I really like the ocncept around this game. A parallel version of Disney's worlds were its characters have "evolved" and they know how to kick butts. I wish this game will long last and will include much more characters. I wonder how Cinderella or Aurora would look in the Mirrorverse.

@@alistor3777 Kingdom Hearts 1 maybe, since that has Ariel as a party member kicking ass, but after that they didn't allow usually non fighter Disney characters to fight. Mirrorverse is gonna replace Kingdom Hearts, considering Nomura already shot that series in the foot himself for years.

Kingdom Hearts if the Disney characters weren't isolated in their own worlds. I LOVE the concept of bringing Disney characters from all kinds of franchises together to fight alongside each other, and I'm so annoyed that the Kingdom Hearts games keeps forcing us to have ONLY Mulan in the Mulan world, only Aladdin in the Aladdin world, etc.

Yea I like that this is basically a multiverse for the Disney world because you have new versions of the characters but also existing ones and they all are here to protect the mirrorverse (multiverse) of disney. I just got the game and the visuals are amazing and the story is pretty good. I am coming from playing MCOC for 6 years and I can say that this game is a breath of fresh air and all Disney fans should be excited!
Finally... someone who makes sense around this insane asylum!
Now all we need is a Kingdom Hearts collab event in this game.

I just LOVE the idea of Belle as a spellcaster. It just feels right.
I really love how Belle looks. I remember seeing her figure in a store once and I was like woah wait what? Lol
This has so much potential for character interactions. Imagine old school characters interacting with more recent ones and comparing differences between their stories.

Dude, in this setting the Madrigals from Encanto are basically the X-men.
This actually looks cool. I love characters with twists to them. Belle went from bookworm to rose mage. Sully went from top scarer to something akin to a paladin (Shields and light? He's definately a tank), and with the shapeshifting and magic, Malificent has the feel of a Druid, only instead of birds or dinos, she can change into a dragon.

sully is a tank, belle is support, i think mal is melee. some skins didnt change much like stitch, then you get mike who basically has a power loader suit

As someone who loves RPGs and their favorite princess is Belle, you have my attention. Hopefully the game is as cool as the trailer.
I love that they werent trying to copy and paste the characters but make them their own wether it be just new hair new outfit or just plain BADASS. Looks AWESOME can't wait to play it.
I guess they aren't even allowed to copy some of the original characters cuz they are not all straight from Disney. Sully is originally from Pixar and that's why he looks kinda different. And obviously it's a game instead of animated movie so there will always be a little difference.

Hands down the best Maleficent design since the original!!!! Love the boney/dragon scale armor!
Mark Oliver was an amazing choice for the narration, he's definitely up there with my favourite voice actors of all time. Especially for his work as garmadon

It looks interesting. Plus the fact that we saw Belle with a magical staff was just amazing and seeing Maleficent protecting something/fighting for good is very interesting.
To be fair alignment-wise, Maleficent is not fighting for good- she is making the rational choice to team up with her enemy to defeat assured annihilation. Her only interest in the outcome is guaranteeing her own safety, not trying to help or protect anyone else.
Of course this is assuming the purple bad guys were too powerful for anyone to handle on their own. If it turns out otherwise, I will gladly retract this statement.
@@postbunnie Based on what's been happening plotwise in the beta, Maleficent starts off as you said but becomes more like her live action Jolie counterpart as the plot continues. Even growing an attachment to Belle and forming a master student bond with her, I would kill for a cinematic or mini movie of them training together.
Not fighting for good but fighting for the right to keep existing. Light and dark don’t matter to an ultimate corruption that wants it all.
@@heartless2147I really need to watch the live action Maleficent. Only have seen the original animated sleeping beauty. I got super bummed when I tried to watch it on Disney Plus (and it had some weird delay for availability) so I never ended up watching it. Thank you for inadvertently reminding about the whole movie about her- with character development and shizz.
(Although if you think about it, an extra dimensional negative Force would necessitate the character development of even "villains-" thus combining the original 2D with the development of the 3D remakes to battle in a fourth dimension Epic battle thing for the conservation of existence.)
I love stories where the good guys can prove to the bad guys that there's something worth sticking around for and learning from.
@@postbunnie That's why I like Mirrorverse conceptually, alternate universe allows free reign of character interaction and development, since Disney usually hates crossovers with their IPs this game is a great breath of fresh air. With this game having an enemy so powerful that heroes and villains are forced to team up, interact and work together to save the universe, it forces character development whether the character wants it or not. Maleficent is a good example, she starts off like her traditional Sleeping Beauty antagonist self, but being betrayed by another villain with a lust for power forced her to side with the heroes to get revenge. But by being with the heroes, she finds an unexpected kindred spirit in Belle, whose intelligence, cunning and assertive personality remind Maleficent of herself. Sure Belle is the only one Maleficent truly respects, the rest of the team she casually insults or give backhanded compliments to, but I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the conflict she becomes an honest member of the team.
Whoever did the music for this deserves waaaaaaay more gigs

Oh, Disney Infinity was my childhood! God, now I feel old.
Disney Infinity, but it took the actual story beat from Skylanders instead of the toys to life concept.

It's just multiverse. The concept itself just stems from the possibilities of the same characters in different roles based on the change of experiences they had.

Honestly after Epic Mickey. I think Disney should try to do more edgy media that isn’t Marvel or Star Wars, and without the help of companies like Capcom or Square Enix.
Hopefully if it does it would mean there's a chance for an Epic Mickey continuation

A convoluted reality that allows disney characters to co-exist without changing the popular canonical stories.
Only without the even more convoluted Final Fantasy-esque story where 50% of the dialogue contains the words "darkness", "heart" or "keyblade" and everybody is a different version of other characters

My dream of a Disney shared universe with a bit of a dark twist to it and never had I been so happy to be a Disney+ subscriber for something other than marvel and star wars (plus hocus pocus 2) and then they go and stamp all over my dreams by revealing it's a game! If you’re going off of Maleficent, she was heartbroken and wanted to punish the man who betrayed her. If you’re talking about the original Disney animation, she was just an evil woman and liked doing evil things.
I don’t think she’s a villain in this universe
This is what should have happened to Kingdom Hearts, the closest we ever got to Disney characters leaving their world and doing something different was in the very first game when Maleficent had her own "Organization" with the Disney villains, sadly that concept was dropped harder than the Midgar plates.
To be fair, a lot of that is Disney just not trusting another company handling their product, and putting limitations on what Square was allowed to do with their characters. It's why the Frozen level was basically a crappier retread of the movie rather than having the originally planned boss fight against Elsa.

This reminds me of Epic Mickey, the trailer voice also reinforces this because the opening cinematic talks about him crossing through his mirror to Yensid’s room were he is working on his forgotten land of Disney rejects. If Mickey is in this, I hope he is allied with Oswald and the brush.

Mickey is a master mage who guards the mirror - he actually gives buffs when you come to certain bosses in story mode

Imagine if this game is revealed to be a part of the Kingdom Hearts storyline or a hint for a new Kingdom Hearts game. I wouldn't be surprised if Star Wars characters, pretty sure Mando and Grogu first, would be added in the future if this becomes successful.
Also, Maleficent and Belle looks so badass in this trailer. Would love to see other characters, like Merlin, Milo or Kida, heck throw in EVA and Wall-E in new suits or battle armor

It honestly boggles my mind that with how much they own they haven't tried to do more crossover stuff, I wish they would do a large scale smash bros-like fighting game combining tons of different Disney, Pixar, marvel, star wars, and maybe even FOX stuff. It's such an obvious and huge opportunity that I'm shocked they haven't capitalized on, It'd definitely be super popular and I'm sure they'd have the money and resources to make it happen.

Feels as if they used the Disney Infinity concept (crossover), removed the Sandbox Mode, made it a little darker and actually made it into a crossover and was a little more serious.

I was genuinely excited for this, right up until I saw it was a mobile game! Now I'm mad! Where has this level of creativity been before now?!
What level of creativity? "What if all the IP we owned joined up and fought some baddies?" isn't just something that's been done before, time and again, but something that Disney itself has done before.
Mobile gaming is a huge market lol hopefully it has a bigger focus on Chinese audiences so we get a good budget

Funny, I can't stand the version that Angelina Jolie plays of an "anti-hero" Maleficent, but THIS heroic version my brain has already decided that I'm downloading this game when it comes out. :D
Yea I like that this is basically a multiverse for the Disney world because you have new versions of the characters but also existing ones and they all are here to protect the mirrorverse (multiverse) of disney. I just got the game and the visuals are amazing and the story is pretty good. I am coming from playing MCOC for 6 years and I can say that this game is a breath of fresh air and all Disney fans should be excited!

Personally, I've always wanted to see Disney princesses fight each other and then team up to fight an OP Disney villain that gaslighted them into fighting each other in the first place. Specifically Ariel, Mulan, Merida, Jasmine, Pocahontas and Moana. The closest we've gotten to that idea is Once Upon a Time, Ralph Breaks the Internet and Kingdom Hearts. I think the best format would be in a fighting game with an original story between the gameplay.
tbh im hoping that this adds not just disney and pixar, but also stuff like marvel, and maybe they will even acknowledge club penguin.
