    Been hamering for half an hour, no budge yet, soaking in cleaning vinegar right now
    Update: after soaking for 20-30 minutes it popped right off with a little tap of the hammer
    So guys use cleaning vinegar, it's a awsome rust disolver for those car parts that just don't want to come off

    Mother of God, the first thought that came to my mind was why the hell not to replace the discs and pads that are calling for replacement right away. These are very apparent savings.

    Good vid. On my Sept 2016 focus the disc guards were totally rotten, literally falling apart!! £12 to £16 per side.

    Looks nice and easy on the ST. Absolute pain on the RS when working off stands, due to the rear driveshaft and domed knuckle assembly making it an incredibly tight and awkward area to work in. Even worse retorquing them, although they are pretty tight to remove!

    Nice job. I will bet they can be a bugger to get that bearing out if they have a bit of age. I have done a couple of Minis over the past year and the back plates have turned to dust.

    • @diydaly
      @diydaly  Год назад +2

      Yeah! I was surprised it cam out not too bad .. had a few insignias with the same style bearing that I’ve had to remove the whole hub and press them out!

    Excellent video,very clear and helpful info, the only difference I could see from my Volvo C70 (Ford Focus suspension and chassis) is that the C70 has female bolts holding the bearing/hub in place, which can be a bit more troublesome I have been told !

    Hi my mk2 focus has the same bearing but has got those stupid Torx bolts holding it on I don't want to round them off so wondering if i heat them up they would come out easier. Cheers great Chanel

    Can you hammer from behind with a chisel rather than hitting on the side?
    I'll probably end up having to replace the brake dust shield given my aim!!

    • @diydaly
      @diydaly  2 месяца назад +1

      Possibly but it’s abit tricky for access , you could get a slide hammer attachment for the hub if not
