When you see that Zealot with 8 kills, remember those aren't Zerglings or Probes that he killed, no. They are cannons. That's a 1000% cost-efficient Zealot right there.
I'm looking out for that. They made it out of the first base and made it down to the second so far lol Edit:Jesus that first game was chaotic lol I'm too turtly for that lmao
That's actually one of the best cannon rush defenses I've ever seen. It was a complete failure, and cost the attacker that much more because he was convinced by his opponent that he was winning and kept on trying to pull out the win that was never going to happen.
when i was like 9 yrs old playing og starcraft i used to try and get as many kills on my hydras as i could, hoping they would turn into hunter killer hydras. would have been a cool mechanic. imagine marines getting promoted or zealots get green wristblades after like 20 kills on a unit.
"This is not only one of the worst-executed cannon rushes I've ever seen, it's also one of the worst defenses to a cannon rush I've ever seen." Exactly my thoughts, Lowko.
Shadowdragon fell into the pit of path-dependence. The first pylon was fine. Heck, even the first three pylons would have been a massive low-commitment advantage for him. He just needed to transition to something other than total focus on cannons.
He didnt even need to transition. He only needed to use the minerals he had in the bank as soon as he could, and cancel the buildings who had less than 3 hits left. he would've had at least 8 cannons alive and shooting if he did so, seeing the terrible defense.
I can't believe I applauded the first game...splitting off those few drones from attacking the roach was the game winning decision there. Loved it. The second game started off just as entertaining but quickly died down when Dawnshatter stopped the rush. I was really fixated on the fact that he didn't chase the probe down with 3 of his own...killing the probe stops all the building potential of the rush even if a pylon does come up
It's possible the Protoss was doing a Cannon Rush Challenge for the hell of it, or for another RUclipsr that gives out these challenges from time to time. If that's the case, the Protoss, to meet the challenge requirements, only had one option.
Ok, gotta say, this is just pure gold, please, Lowko, do get your blood pressure up more! By the way, recently started viewing your videos and it kinda just rekindling the SC flame... thanks bro, keep it up
The funny thing is, based on how the cannon rush was being defended, if shadow had just cancelled their structures as they were about to be destroyed they probably would've won. Imagine how many more cannons could've been placed if cancels were happening.
31? That's rookie numbers. My blood pressure has been insane ever since I was a teen, currently 26. My leg is a constant drill whenever I sit down, and I can't stop fidgeting things.
and this is why i stopped playing sc2 a while ago. all people do is just cheese strat their way to the top. very little skill. and you defend against the cheese/rush strat and they just call gg. 5-10minute games get boring.
Doctor to Lowko while looking Lowko's results: sir, do you cast Starcraft games for a living? Lowko: yes, why? Doctor: because this blood pressure is not normal Lowko: starts remembering viewers games. Doctor: sir? Sir? Are you OK? Sir?
In Wonder about the decay rate of the spine rooted out the creep... I Saw It regenerate uprooted. Would It bê useful to root in battle sacrificing a portion of life tô do more damage?
12 pool doesn't need to produce lings. Don't forget that 12 pool used to be a common opener back when 6 workers were the starting amount, and it wouldn't necessarily get any lings either. Although it is odd to not get at least 1 pair of lings, since they're good for scouting and killing scouts.
This is quite a bit different than in the 6 worker days. 12 pool needs to deal some damage to offset the cost of the pool and associated loss of mineral due to the fact that you can't produce drones as fast. As such, it gives the opponent time to get a strong economic lead, which is a hell of a good step toward winning the game.
Dude… I am silver… but I used to play casually, don’t anymore. And I know Lowko is gonna say “you are not as good as you think” and I know I suck… but probably because I am slow and my control sucks BUT when I see games like that bizarre ZvZ I just don’t understand how these people get even to Gold let alone to Diamond or Platinum… it’s mind boggling
@@Iyashu5040 the overlord needs authorization from the higher ups in the lair to spread creep because the overlord vomits creep which would require a lot of energy for the overlord if it was in real life and i think the hatchery lair and hive are memory storages or something so it would make sense that the drones cannot build more advanced structures until they have a blueprint thingy available in their mind And yeah that would of been an easy win

@Rei One step at a time.
Some of the kills were pylons too.
Lowko missed out on the first game that the two spines of RaccoonMan died because they weren't uprooted xD
if Ultrahugs had cancelled that 1 roach he could have made a new base with all of his Drones xD

Lowko shooing the Void Rays over to the enemy's base has to be one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. XD
I just love the 5 probes doing merry-go-round while others surrounding the cannon trying to kill it
That spine crawler of red in the first game is the decedent of the legendary spine crawler that saved the whole world in Carbot animation
what a game , ultra scouted the drones and lings coming in , doesn't immediately start making all the lings he could.
Too bad he wasn't given the time for him to hug his opponent with ultras.
To Ultra's credit though, they do immediately start up 3 spines and a queen. So some defensive reaction was had, though not the most appropriate one.
Watching that spine get escorted and protected by the roach reminded me a lot of a tank being protected by a dps and 3 healers!
Lowko's thinking that, if he has to endure such pain, we also have to.

why that red zerg player did not brought an overlord with that spine so he can poop some creep and spine can root?
When it come to drone and ling rush, does one need to save a couple of drones home so they can get the mineral income running?
