10:43 be honest, you were a little salty that his halo xbox came into the store working.... >.
So glad you went here! Steve is the absolute best and deserves great success at the store. His store is great with amazing selection and prices, but his personality and customer service are what set him far ahead of any other store in the area.
Man, I miss lan parties, early 2000s before the internet was so common.
Tron. Awesome cabinet, excellent sound. Love the game.
That's my local game store! WHAT!
If I have to watch one more game store video I’m gonna have to like
And the price jumps and falls.
People like Steve are rare...hopefully he has a ton of success
Hopefully because I can't imagine paying such electicity bill just by running all those consoles even desktop pcs for free lol... this business strategy sounds absolutely ridiculous.
Went into the store last weekend to get an extra copy of Halo to host my first LAN party. Dude was super kind and gave me tips as to what was needed to hook up and get things running. Absolutely a must stop if you're in the area
My favorite arcade game was centipede 🎉🎉🎉🎉
People that love their trait or expertise hit different. Make going to the business enjoyable if not over done.
Steve is a great store owner. Very knowledgeable and friendly, even when busy. If you're taking a trip to the store, it's actually in Greenfield by hwy 100 and Layton. Not in the city proper.
Having areas for your kids, and other kids to hang out, enjoy, and play games its just awesome! Good on you for creating this area for them.
I was JUST at this game store for the first time yesterday!
Shout out Steve for opening up a cool store in the Milwaukee Area. Nothing like a video game shop that you are comfortable enough to hang out in at the same time.
Konami used the same game engine for the following arcade games:
1) The Simpsons
2)TMNT
3)TMNT Turtles in Time
4) Sunset Riders
5) The Cow-Boys of Moo-Mesa
6) Buckey O'Hare
All of these games came in the standard Konami 4-Player cabinet. There were some 2-player cabinets as well, but I don't know if they were actually released by Konami or if they were kits. Because I am more than likely older than the majority of y'all viewing this channel, I am stuck between two of my favorite games from the 80s. The first one is the original Donkey Kong. The second one is Star Wars. This awesome Vectrix game was published by Atari in 1983. The only way to play this game is the sit-down cockpit cabinet.
Can't believe you said Wayne's World 2 when it was the first one!!!
This store is only 2 hours away from me will deff be taking a trip down there soon! Had no idea about this spot.
Do it. You won’t be disappointed!
@@4th1st73 I deff will, already saw acouple things I plan on getting, fingers crossed they’re still there.
This store and owner is great! We went to that store as well while in town for Midwest gaming classic. Definitely recommended! Nice work on the video, Rick
Some might say your channel got hacked. Others know you stole microstrategy's channel
😂😂😂
my favorite all time arcade game is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
Favorite of all time was golden axe growing up put so many quarters into that machine 😂
Halo 3 LAN party? holy shit that was my childhood. Funny story time:
I'll try to keep it short lol
I'm from NYC, and when I was like 14 I was the biggest white nerd you can imagine and standing 6'6''
My friend on Xbox live told me to come to a LAN and I never been to one so I was excited and wanted to go.
He told me the LAN was in the south Bronx (the hood if you don't know)
I was 14 and I didn't know the difference between the hood or a nice area lol.
I get on the train to go to the LAN and I get there and I'm completely lost. I'm a tall white nerd, walking around the south bronx with an xbox, and a computer monitor under my arms LOL.
Looking back on it it's one of the funniest moments of my life, but in the moment nothing happened and I had a blast, and went back multiple times over the years.
TLDR: I was in the hood sticking out like a sore thumb with an xbox and computer monitor under my arms.
Just curious how tall are you now?
And if you don't mind me asking what do you do for work?
@@poke-holo-sports I'm 6'6'', I stopped growing early and I'm an entrepreneur.
Just curious how long are you ?
And if you don't mind me asking what is your favourite position ?
@@PhilBurnell1982 🤣
It’s from Wayne’s World 1. It’s right after they go backstage at Alice Cooper 😊 I used to watch the movie religiously as a kid so I’ve probably seen it about 100 times. Even had the movie memorized at one point lol 👍
Dude u scam people on what not daily u ain’t scared of losing shit
Where was the “hard reality of owning a game store” convo??? U guys made it seem rad owning one on this vid lol u seriously click baiting now? Zero convos about overhead, profit/negative. Just baiting titles now
Phoenix resale has some good "harsh reality of owning a game store" videos that actually cover that
@@tiredofthisshieeet 100%. Was jusy pointing out he’s click baiting now & has said multiple times he wouldn’t do that. It loses trust from the viewer if he becomes persistent doing that
I think the whole thing was about how he had to throw his collection into inventory to make it work. Years of work gone because he needs items to sell.
That store is really well thought out really clean and open feeling. Wish I lived closer be nice
The first Wayne's World Rick!
I’m a MKE resident and I can confirm that this is THE game store in Milwaukee. It’s my new favorite game store!! I’ve been going here for a few months now! Steve is so cool and he’s obviously passionate about gaming. The deals are so good, too! The atmosphere is exactly what gamers are looking for!
Street Fighter II Champion Edition is my all time favorite!
As a HUGE collector myself and as I said in todays video, I would struggle to own a Retro Game Shop 😮
A local store near me got a lounge, projector, rows of consoles and within 6 weeks it was all stolen. Not by customers, by thieves who entered during the night. That was the last time and only time I ever saw a setup like this one. Its a wonderful shop, both of your shops are amazing and better than anything i've seen in the past 20 years.
Love community oriented stores! Looks like a fun time especially when they have tournaments.
WWF Wrestle Fest is my all-time favorite arcade game.
Ahh that's Wayne's World 1
Not Wayne's World 2. It's from the original. (I've seen it 3,672 times).
You ask him a question and just instantly start talking over him. Trying to listen to his answers without your anecdotes
His gamestore looks so professional and clean. I liked Digdug, Gauntlet and Pacman.
I love his lounge! If real estate wasn't nuts here in so cal, this was what I wanted to do should I ever open a game store. It would be as much a community center as a retail space.
When he says Wayne’s World 2, it makes you question the Retro part of his name
Favorite arcade game, simple virtual on 2 it was a robot fighting simulator game.
Rick talks about POP CULTURE like he knows about POP CULTURE.... Everyone knows that line was from the original WAYNE's WORLD.
nothing better than building up others around you so everyone thrives
Packing up my compaq PC and heading to my friends house to participate in a LAN party in the garage. Ghost recon and rogue spear days!
I need Pokémon sapphire Rick
Only Waynes World 2?
Everyone forget about Happy Days.
My Favorite Arcade Game Is Atari Star Wars 1983
Die Hard Arcade! The game that made me want a Sega Saturn over an N64 and it wasn't out for the Saturn yet when I made that decision. Luckily it paid off in the end.
Fun fact Alice Cooper actually has a learning center in Native reservation in Arizona.
Street Fighter 2 !!
Fav arcade game of all time - Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
I'm about 45 minutes away. Gonna have to make the trip!
NBA Hang Time, hang on with the full motorcycle or the afterburner full set up
Very nice place…. Most owners wouldn’t do a lounge because it don’t make them money … and also don’t won’t to deal with kids… I give Steve big Props
Mortal kombat 3 and 4 ultimate
My favorite arcade game is Gauntlet Legends. I remember when I was 18 in 2005, the arcade at my mall was selling their cabinet of it, I had the money for it but no way to get it to my house a hour away. I was crushed.
Star Wars trilogy o Arcade. You play all 3 movies, fight Boba Fett, and Darth Vader. 30 minute play through and if you didnt die, it only cost .50 cents to $1 dollar to play
It's Waynes World 1 . Not 2. Lol .
Halo 3 lan party, cool. My top 3 arcade games would be: 1. Gauntlet (4 Player), 2. Outrun (sit down cab) and 3. R-Type
Store is AMAZING 🎧💻🎮
I’m old. Dragon’s Lair, Afterburner, Star Wars with the cockpit from the 1982or83, and Sega ent. did one in the late 90s i love also…
Space Ace, Rampage, Gauntlet, Hypersports
Fav arcades? Simpsons for sure. Cabal. Turtles. Final Fight. MKII. SFII. T2. Rival Turf.... So many good memories.
just dropped $300 in there this past weekend! Awesome place and Steve is a great guy.
My favorite arcade game is Star Wars, growing up, I would always play that game at Chuck e cheese. That's why I bought the arcade 1up.
What American over 30 hasn't seen Wayne's World 2 ???
👊😜👍
"I had to beat them to deff wiff their own shooes" (Thick British accent) 😆😂🤣
@@streetfightertwo 😆😆😆
So glad you got your channel back man. People are so messed up. Glad your back and poppin.
Fave arcade games: obviously Mortal Kombat 1, 2 & 3. Did anybody else have a lowkey "secret spot" for one? Cici's Pizza for me had MK3. But my local mall, I remember when the first NBA Jam came out dudes were literally lined up out the door waiting to play it. XMen vs Street Fighter was my fave arcade game when I got older though, remember being so bummed that the PS2 ver couldn't fully handle it like the switching of characters or whatever
No GameCube? Pass!
From 2016 to 2020, my two local goodwills sold ps2 slims for $9.99 and fats for 19.99. They also sold OG XBOX & XBOX 360s for $19.99. Now the only thing the have is mangled sports games for $6 each. How times have changed.
The arcades I spent most money on was Kung Fu Master and 1943: The Battle of Midway.
The first, I could reach the final boss and beat him, today, I cant pass the witch on the 4th level.
The second, 1943, I could reach the final ship boss with one coin but I couldn't beat it with just one coin.
Great games, great times.
Ok I have a question. I've been seeing it now for a couple years and I finally am going to call it out. A lot of good game stores are selling an entire rack/wall of those knock off n64 controllers that everyone who's ever touched one, says are absolute garbage and ruin the gaming experience for n64. What's up with that? The n64 scene/community right now is using oem if they can, or using one of the following options: rebuilding oem with kitsch bent parts, rebuilding oem with steel stick parts, using a stick replacement such as 8bitdo, or using the NSO n64 controller with a blue retro adapter. Some are going 3rd party controllers but mostly using the hori pad mini, tribute 64, or brawler 64 from retro fighters. Everyone has been taking a HARD PASS on those knock off n64 controllers for a very long time, so I can't imagine they would sell in your store? I also worry that they ruin people's experience with the n64?
I never really did arcades growing up and now, I honestly don't see them around much. BUT! If I could own 1 arcade machine, I would get an F-Zero AX machine. F-Zero AX was the arcade version of F-Zero GX, which is my favorite racing game ever. It was a GameCube game. The F-Zero AX machine isn't small though. It was one of those larger machines that you could sit inside of. It also would use your GameCube memory card to unlock more things to use in F-Zero GX.
imo, this store really should maybe charge like $1 for playing the games for the day. That is a lot of store real estate that he isn't making money off of. At least let it help pay for the electricity. Then again, I don't know how busy the store gets. At least the tournaments should be some $ amount to enter, imo.
MARVEL VS CAPCOM 2, STREET FIGHTER II TURBO: HYPER FIGHTING; SUPER STREET FIGHTER II TURBO, KING OF DRAGONS, STRIDER, PROGEAR, BATTLE CIRCUIT, SUPER PUZZLE FIGHTER, SATURDAY NIGHT SLAM MASTERS, FINAL FIGHT, GIGA WING, CAPTAIN COMMANDO, ARMORED WARRIORS and ALIEN VS. PREDATOR
The 4 player cabinets (X-Men, Simpsons, Turtles, Avengers) are hard to beat but my all time favourites are Splatter House,.Wonderboy & Ikari Warriors.
My favorite Arcade game is tied between Dig Dug and DKJ. Both games that kind of started my gaming journey.
NBA Jam was my arcade game of choice, followed by Pole Position, Operation Wolf, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles multi player
I'm a 90s kid, but I too never got into Pokemon. Weird I guess....
I know it has a massively huge following, but it ain't for me, just never had that itch or interest.
If i were to come and play, could i order food there? It's a huge stretch cause I'm ways away but you know, never know. Lol... Nice store though. It's not huge.
Maybe small collectables of some sort.
PLEASE head to Rochester Minnesota to the “Machine Shed” So stuffed with EVERYTHING!! AND more
Showing my age, but Toki is one of my faves (the one with the bullet-spitting monkey😂). That and of course, TMNT and Turtles in Time.
Went in there last week and purchased that CIB Xbox 360 blades dashboard!!!! Such a. Awesome
Dude!
Love how Rick says he wants people to feel like they're getting a good deal literally two seconds after saying he sells ps2's for $125... 🙄
The only place more expensive than Rick is dkoldies.
wow a ps2 has so much value in the us. its around 35-45$ in germany for a ps2 with a controller, memory card and the cables .. if you are lucky you get 2 controllers ;)
@ 12:27 Yes it is a DK Jr. cabinet with the marquis, but if you look at the screen, you will see Donkey Kong. More than likely this was converted into what is known as "Double Donkey Kong." Both DK and DK Jr. are in one cabinet. Just press both start buttons on the title screen to switch games. More DK Jr.'s were converted into Double DK, than vice versa.
Xmen and Simpsons were probably my most played arcade games growing up. But I think the time crisis games were my favorite. Buck hunter is up there too.
While all the kids are trying to get all the tickets they can, I was gladly throwing my tokens into Simpsons to get further and further. I'd say TMNT is my second favorite arcade game
Rick, I can help you Pokemon cards. Been a collector and buyer for years. I’d love to help you out!!
Rent will kill your business project if you don't have good sales and other means to make money. He's making a mistake to give free game play unless initial attraction policy. Charge per hour play.
Metal Slug, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Time Crisis, Crazy Taxi, Simpsons, Mrs Pacman. 👾
Top 3 favourite arcade cabinets
1. The Simpsons arcade
2. TMNT
3. X-Men
Honourable mention Marvel Vs Capcom 2
Silver Surfer on NES; they crushed the box art so well that they just slapped the most generic label on the cartridge 😅😅😅
I remember the old days of Pokemon Cards. Nowadays you can buy those cards just about anywhere, even at places like Staples.
Killer Instinct
Cool Video - maybe next year after MGC I’ll go visit this NEW Video Game Store 😊😊😊
Actually it’s from Wayne’s world 1. Which is pronounced “Wayne’s world”
Yeah of course Simpsons and X-Men and Ninja Turtles. But I spent a lot of quarters on X Men vs Street Fighter
Friggin awesome..thanks for the tour Rick
How come I never see the early street fighter with the 2 huge red buttons.... I dont know how many times I was just spamming those 2 large rubber buttons
Cool store! Milwaukee its like an hour from me come to visit the collection nex time
Mortal Kombat 2 favorite arcade game of all time, but Simpsons/X-Men/TMNT tied for 2nd
