No in-ear equipment and tighter than a gnat's butt ! Great singing, especially Bobby Martin. And that solo - wow !!! This needs a dvd release and soon. Frank is the best !!
Good point about the lack of in-ear monitoring... Most people don't realize what a huge difference it makes in the cohesiveness of a live rock performance.
Bought Chunga's Revenge the day it came out in 1970. 20 years old, and already a Zappa fan for 5 years. WTF! The guys from the Turtles? What is Frank doing? And the genius was revealed, as were Flo and Eddie's awesome vocals tied into FZ's brilliant songs. Sharleena was the high point for me! I just had my 68th birthday, and still not a week goes by without some Zappa blessing my senses. God, Frank, I still love you for what you did for me through your music and writings. R.I.P. FZ.
Zappa for me became GOD. My best friend earlyer introdused me for Zappa. On our travels around Europe he bought all kassets he could find of Zappa and Mothers of Invention. Years later he forgot all in a train. That the moment I start buying records. Today i have I belewe them ALL✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
I wish someone would have captured video of his last performance in the St. Paul Civic Center - it was the best guitar playing I ever heard him do - super legend!
Greatest solo ever, amazing, you can debate different tastes, but all in all, I havent heard something like this ever, this is that one moment in someones life, that one deed
Think I heard this song chungas revenge first, that version is my favourite, harmonising is epic and that guitar solo with a sound I've never heard to this Day
there's a version of this belove'd piece i got from guitar world in which it has Mr. Zappa and his son Dweezil play's this really nice solo to this song. Dweezil was in his teens at the time. thanks to the ZAPPA family an but of coarse Mr. Zappa for making the kind of music he created an that it will always travel in the vastness of space an time,,,,
jajajajjaja tampoco pasa nada si votan en contra. No todos los cerebros estan preparados para absorber lo que Zappa tenia preparado para nosotros jajajajaaj
Music and Frank Zappa is the best

Bobby Martin's vocals are the best!
I especially love them in Stevie's spanking

my first album also, 1970…would you go all the way ?
Can't get enough of this solo, it's definitely not long enough!!!
possibly his best work, in failing health. Inspirational
I’ve never seen this video before and it is a damn good solo!
EXACTLY
Frank's solos were never, or could ever be long enough.
Beautiful. Brought a tear to my eye (sorry zappa, but you're so beautiful - I miss you!)
This is such a dynamic song. Wish it was an hour long.
I would be so delighted

Excellent version of this beautiful song: first appeared on the 1970 album Chunga”s Revenge
If I had Robert Martin's voice, I would talk sing everything
Benjamin Crookston haha
heck yeah
Zappa's music is the best.
Maybe not the best guitarist in the world but my favorite by a billion miles.
he is the best.
He was the best guitarist. Who else has 9 albums out of nothing but guitar solo's. Shut up and Play Your Guitar.
parrytonneath Definitely.
I wish someone would have captured video of his last performance in the St. Paul Civic Center - it was the best guitar playing I ever heard him do - super legend!

Frank Zappa the Genius !!! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE MUSIC !!!
Perfect. Everything is just perfect.
This tour was awesome and amazing times this band was great
Greatest solo ever, amazing, you can debate different tastes, but all in all, I havent heard something like this ever, this is that one moment in someones life, that one deed

Seen both nights in London 88 tour and a few months later at a record fair this whole concert on VHS tape.. then a few years later it was on DVD..
This is such a wonderful song. I first heard it in Guitar Player on one of their little plastic records that came with the mag.
Think I heard this song chungas revenge first, that version is my favourite, harmonising is epic and that guitar solo with a sound I've never heard to this Day
Sublime, best version ever
Happy Birthday Frank!
Just wonderful!
And I thought, when I first heard it, my god, a love song- mahvelous!!
Its all about the solo !!!!
Why? Why was this such a cute version of this song? It’s too good!
Timeless FZ and this reggae music style alike wahoo
Holy fuck after all this time I found it
What a great solo.
Reggae with a real sense of freedom. One best improvisation on the Sharleena theme.

Heerlijk om met die guitaar-solo het nieuwe jaar te beginnen.

Ten long years , te estaré amando ...I would call her my baby, and now,
I'm always cryin' :(
God, I love Ike.
Holy Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a poor sinner. Amen.
I just stuck the tip in !
the original version had Flo & Eddie's vocals,
and Aynsley Dunbar's drums
whats not to like? just enjoy and shut up .
FOR MY BELOVED ANGEL DAUGHTER____OF COURSE SHE`S STILL MINE___NO NEED TO CRY__NEVER GONNA LEAVE HER___FOR NUTHIN`___*
An astounding solo. So different from the 1984 solos, with the same spirit though

Winos don’t march
yeah bro, like that even more than this solo!
Escuche una versión mas rápida de Sharleena.
"a 7 sordos no les gusta este video"
Zappa went "too much reggae" those years , original version more yearning...
Zappa=g.o.a.t……
