FINAL Air Pacific Boeing 747-400 Take Off from Sydney Airport SYD / YSSY

A Air Pacific Boeing 747 departs Kingsford Smith International Airport in Australia bound for Nadi as FJ910.
Very sad moment seeing this aircraft depart from Sydney for the last time. Air Pacific / Fiji Airways retired their final 747 on the Sydney run about a week before complete retirement.
This aircraft is former Singapore Airlines 9V-SMD and Ansett Australia VH-ANB. During it's 24 year life flying with 3 different airlines it was always a common visitor to Sydney. DQ-FJK and FJL will be very much missed!
Fiji Airways will now only use A330-200 and 737-800 aircraft on Australian routes.

I've just watched this in 2019, and it's just like it just happened now. It's such a beautiful plane, with the rainbow on its tail. You don't see a big sign that says Fiji but it resembles who Fiji is. I truly miss it.

From what I heard it will have the same fate as FJL and be parted out. As it's a 1989 build and probably racked up a lot of cycles there probably are not many potential buyers out there very unfortunately.

Allaboutsports the new ones are both airbuses they should have bought the new Boeing 747-8f a newer model with the new GenX engines and an Airbus

Well, Air Pacific Fiji is basically now called “Fiji Airways” but a330 300, a330 200, 747 800 and other smaller planes are the only Fiji airways planes
