This week allows you to open the door, as you can get the upgrade that allows you to unlock the doors in the mission. There's a fun side area that results in you getting the mechanical dog in the mission. This is probably video number 89489238923 on this, but I figured I'd still upload it anyway. My first times getting in here I got multiple disconnects, so unfortunately it was a little slow to get back in there. Either way, a fun little surprise.

So you run around and shoot 50 balls around the system and go through basically the beginning of the whisper mission just to pet a dog. Seems legit

Repair drones are for the bonus chest at the end of Seraph’s Shield.
The fifty security drones (the beach balls) are to open the door to doggo.
And then to get Bungie to sell you a plushie right when you hit orbit.

You can put him in the helm and pet him. He also comes with a stat tracker tracking how many times you've pet him to put on emblems
now for me to set up a bot to pet him 24/7

You get the sparrow from the triumph, and (he) shows up next to Clovis at the Helm. So, kinda cool.

I expected to find 1 of those free exotic ornaments we were told we're going get 4 revision 0. But, this is so much better!
you get them by upgrading the intrinsic trait on the gun
I got one of them for completing the mission lol
You get them for each catalyst upgrade, they are just added attachments on the gun (Lazer sight, barrel).
Okay, all that for the dog is something I can live with
It's actually to sell you the plushy of the dog. The message pops up the second you hit orbit.

Maybe it's an Easter egg, we might get pets in Lightfall. We can use Strand as a leash to walk our dogs.

@@MexiMiioo I totally can do this. You are right. However, for me personally, the reward isn't wort the work to get the door open, then the puzzle to get to the dog... It's time I'd rather spend on other adventures.
Later in the season, when you've done everything else, this will be something worth trying. I just completed it... not really hard.
I found the dog in the mission yesterday, first he looked like a cat from a distance, it’s crazy how I got there, we were lost and couldn’t find our way back, then I climbed up and over until we got to the big drop with the door at the bottom where the dog was ,and then found the transfer spot which took us back to continue the mission, we almost quit ,as it took us a hr or more to get out of the secret area.. most fun I’d had playing destiny in a very long time,,
I actually made it, took about 20 attempts. It would not have known where to go! TY Cheers!:))+++

Wish I paid attention to the upgrade I picked when selecting it for this week. Knowing you could cheese the security lasers with Eager Edge and similar (to me) meant that you could forego the tactical armor and get the security door opener upgrade and get the good boy opportunity sooner

Just wish there was an emblem or something tied to a solo flawless, time trial, or some challenge on legend.
Previous exotic missions have done it, besides Vox, and I’m not sure why they didn’t do it here. Would’ve been easy content to make for us
Yeah it's strange they chose not to, especially considering they have the triumphs already there. Mission was a huge step up from Vox anyway, so it was nice to see

Pretty sure the reward for the drones was the sparrow. This is just something extra that doesn’t cost any extra effort aside from a few min after finishing the exotic mission

@@biggie-b1180 as I stated, the reward for the 50 orbs is the sparrow. This is something EXTRA that comes alongside it. Are you dense ? A little Easter egg. They could’ve easily omitted this completely, not put a door and just left the sparrow as the main reward with no extra Easter egg that comes along with it

i've seen people upset by this, but this is just a nice bonus to the 1 reward that your actually told you get for shooting all 50 balls, that being the sparrow
Duuuude lmao I just tried this mission for the first time going in blind, got this far by accident thinking I was still doing the normal mission, and thought I was stuck just before the final room with the dog bc I couldn’t see the door and kept falling to my death lmao

I fell in this teleporter and found the dog without getting 50 drones or shooting the panels to open the door or passing through lasers. I was confused as to where I even was. I was solo too.
Now we just need to activate the Best Boy protocol for the catalyst!

seriously the most random and unexpected thing to come out of Destiny IMHO.. I now have a robot dog to pet lol.
This jumping puzzle alone is much more climatic that the whole exotic mission.

Did you know that, in the new version of the mission, part of this still exists, but it traps you eo you cannot leave. The new version has no chekpoints and by accidentally stumbling onto this section, I have lost 50 minutes of my life

you get an "ornament" once you get the intrinsic upgrade from the mission's final chest and change the barrel of revision zero. The weapon visually gets a larger gold plated barrel

U just saw it in the video. It looks the same when you do it. Nothing special or needed happens or comes from this. U get an annoying if u pet it dog. As well as a sparrow to delete because it's worse than the 98% of ppl have already.

Has anyone noticed that right before you surrender to the fallen, there is an interaction to place something. Does anyone know anything about this? I’ve yet to figure out what is placed or if there is any other locations like this throughout the mission.
I think it's misplaced text/interactable. Seraph's Shields is much like DSC at launch in that it is poorly constructed with dozens of intangible textures, holes in the map, and missing barriers. I assume this is something like the hidden scannable in DSC Security that is probably just misplaced
Might be something that is already deployed but it's time locked.
Only time can tell if it was either a glitch or something else.

ok, so I got the Security Clearance upgrade and was able to open all the other security doors during the mission but when I approach the door at the start of this video I get "access denied". Am I missing something? Can it only be done on legendary or something like that? its the last one I need

Just did this mission solo legend today after neglecting it for awhile and gotta say… in season of the wish this part of the mission is auto unlocked so I was stumped doing the mission without a guide… thought this was apart of the mission 🤦♂️

@@GhostlyBear-_- in essence, yeah. as you already know, it's possible to bypass the lasers with an eager edge sword (among a few other things), it was opening those doors that stopped otherwise legit access... I heard that you can choose which of the upgrades you can get regarding this mission, so by getting the Security Clearance, you'd be all set to get all the drones and explore this platforming area.
