The high singing in the chorus is interesting, it gives the song a nice flavour to it when played live. Matt also did really high vocals for The Revanchist on their deep cuts stream, and it sounded AMAZING.
They dont need to switch because matt sounds any worse, but from the songs perspective, the lower vocal melody was the main one in the studio version so it feels weird for the higher one to be louder and up front
I don’t for him, but sometimes singing low and pushing the vocal chords to have more projection during live shows can damage your voice more than singing on a higher pitch (because you cannot hear a lower voice as clearly as a higher pitched one)
