I love your idea of noticing the tiny flowers! There is so much beauty to enjoy if we channel our inner child-like curiosity and notice details. I also like bring in a few small blooms from our yard to enjoy in a kitchen vase. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous page of tiny spring beauties!
I am so glad you chose this subject today. Georgia O'Keefe said she made her paintings of flowers big because many people don't take the time to observe a flower. The Buddha taught one of his famous lessons by showing people a single flower to encourage observation and clear seeing, to look deeply into a flower, to see what we see, not what we assume something is. So I have taken it upon myself to catalog these forgotten plants and paint them big, showing them in all their glorious details. I want to show people what they are missing. There are entire universes in just one grass verge. I am so pleased that you gave Speedwell an honorable mention...one of my favorites...😊🙏🌿
Speedwell is one of my favourites too. I come from the county of Lancashire in N.W. England, and here they are known locally as "The grass of Parnassus.
Your little sketchbook is absolutely amazing! I always notice the little tiny flowers myself and often want to paint them. I have to make time as I would like to document them also. I especially like the little violas that we have here and most people say they are weeds but I see them differently with their tiny petals and beautiful colours of yellow and deep purple. Thanks for the inspiration. TLC
Thanks so much! I’m so happy that you enjoy the little flowers in spring too…they’re so beautifully thoughtfully placed for us to enjoy! Appreciate your encouragement and for watching! 😊
I agree with everything you said. My husband picks a bouquet of "spring miniatures" in our yard every few days and we enjoy them daily. I just finished sketching a few of these little gems before I saw your lovely post. Thank you❣
Oh my♥️ thank you so so much! This is SO inspiring! Also I love the technique you use, that loose watercolor background! I need to try that! Your pages turned out so stunning and delicate! Keep on sharing please, love your channel! Love from Spain!
I’m amazed at the details God put into even the tiniest of flowers. So fascinating Thank you for your observations and inspiration. Love your style of painting. Learning a lot watching you
I love this. My daughter and I pick tiny bouquets for tiny vases we have. Would you share what brush(es) you are using? They have such a great pointy tip. Thanks so much.
As always absolutely beautiful! Excellent points about miniatures. My back yard is covered with violets and it's so pretty. This year I have white ones too. I don't miss grass. I have a question. Did you use words just above the flowers or just some design. I'm sorry I couldn't quite tell.
Thanks so much! I love violets too and am always excited to find the yellow and white ones😊 I wrote the names of the flowers right above them in Latin and their English common names. Thanks again for watching ❤️
