Any trailers with Adolf Caesar as the narrator! Mother's Day ('80), Scalps ('83), Day of the Dead ('85), Dr. Butcher M.D. ('83), Xtro ('83).... there's just so many good ones lol I could go on for a lot longer, but those are all great additions to vol 2!
I think there were more independent producers, making horror because they are relatively inexpensive and make a big profit. Because of this, the big studios pick up these films for distribution ie: Friday the 13th. Possibly with the rise of digital and the internet, maybe they just get lost in the “content chaos.”
I also believe that was due to being reliant on practical effects and make up techniques where you can put more love into the art of crafting a look and feel for your movie.
number one: the industry changed. Just like in music they went where the money was and when horror/slashers stopped bringing the big bucks they went with other genres of film. All the big talent was shifted to other areas. You can only keep milking that cow for so long. Number two: we got no more practical effects and lots of CGI. Nobody wants to pay Tom Savini and Rick Baker to do special effects anymore. Which is sad because they could still be doing great things to this day. And number three: the film stock is different. The types of film that ran through the cameras in the 1970s and 80s is not made anymore. Unless you got the big bucks and want to pay to have it manufactured and processed, then make multiple prints out of it to send to movie theaters all over the world. Nobody can afford to do that anymore.
This is awesome! I saw just about all of these when they came out but 1982's Alone in the Dark will always have a special place in my heart. One of my 80's faves! Saw it at the Dedham Showcase Cinema the weekend it came out
Omg this bought back some brilliant memories..the film's were so much better back then, they really don't make them like they used to..I couldn't take my eyes off the screen & I couldn't take the smile off my face..I really really appreciate you taking time to put these together for us & show them here, thankyou, you really made my day..I'm going to hunt a few down & watch them again..thankyou🤙💜✌🏼☮🤙💜✌🏼☮
John Carpenter’ film Prince of Darkness looks interesting. Of course it’s always good seeing Donald Pleasance in a John Carpenter film as well as the male lead in Halloween 3: Season of the Witch
Tom Atkins was not in Prince of Darkness, but rumor has it John Carpenter rented his moustache for the movie. Loyd's of London appraised it for 3 million dollars.
POD is exactly that, interesting. I give it 3 out of 5. It's got a cool Carpenter synth score and a fascinating, strange scifi story line. This is basically Carpenter giving the audience mystery and gore and squirming insects. Correction: Pleasance wasn't in Halloween III ... but you may have typed the wrong thing via brain fart, we all do that sometimes.
@@eduardo_corrochio I think you've miss read it, when he said the male lead in Halloween 3 season of the witch he was talking about Tom Atkins but couldn't recall his name is how I read it.
@@paulanthony5274 Today I can see what you mean, "the male lead" being a way to say Tom Atkins when you can't remember a name. But on my first glance I thought he was mistakenly remembering Pleasance in H3:SOTW.
Nothing more than amazing! I love it and my Drive IN I saw them at! If I had the money I would build it exactly were It was and I would show them how to make it bigger and better than B-4!!! Thanks for the memories!!!
You could make a backyard drive in. They sell digital projectors for relatively decent prices, and screens aren't very much. If you don't have space in your yard, a blank wall or bedsheet will do the trick! 😊

I'm looking for a film that takes place on a boat, where a boy dies and his friends throw him into the sea, then he comes back like a zombie to kill them all on that boat. I was a kid when I watched it in the 90s. Thank you
Not that one 😅 I already watched that one. It happens when we only remember fragments of the film, but not the name 😆 I still appreciate it, thank you very much 😉✌🏻😌

This rocks! Thanks for putting this together.
Having grown up in this era I still look back and ask myself how did the 80’s reach a creative peak a person no longer finds in today’s cinema?

They had to be... the competition was there
Today's stuff has sacrificed quality for quantity

I was just thinking how sick it would be if I could just throw on hours of 80’s trailers and BOOM, here you come. Thanks breh 🙏🏻
I could watch these trailers for days, much more entertaining than any movie released today
The reason is whether good or bad, they were organic. Everything today is so manufactured. You know every turn, every line, every effect. No fun!
@@jbjacobs9514 and always that same “whoooooomp” sound effect in action trailers
Many of these movies need to be rereleased in theaters!

I remember watching quite a few of these movies on vhs. Thanks to rental stores. It was fun being scared .
