      I just don't understand this mindset, mostly because poles made a bunch of "win now" moves but is going to draft a rookie qb, how does that make sense
      Also this is round 3 of head coach on a hot seat, uses high draft pick to get a qb, and now if the season doesn't go better than last year they are in the exact same position again, I new head coach with a high draft pick qb they didn't draft
      Fox drafted mitch and was fired the following season, Nagy drafted fields and was fired thw following season......

    Finally a take I can get behind. I’m so done with all the negativity surrounding Fields and the trade to the Steelers. This is so far from a binary issue. Poles is making incredible moves to build a franchise that can last for years to come, and the truth is Justin Fields just didn’t work out. He’s a great player with amazing potential, but let’s be real: that potential is not in Chicago. 10-28 is not acceptable, and it’s time to move on. Caleb Williams has a bright future, and while the Bears made plenty of mistakes developing Fields, they’re showing now that they do not intend on making those mistakes again. Give Poles a chance, let the man cook. We just might end up with another legendary Chicago sports story at the end of this. It’s about time Bears fans had a team they can really get behind, and I think this season could be the start of something special.

    • @stevenodonnell312
      @stevenodonnell312 2 месяца назад

      They are making the same mistakes again, how are you going to have a coach on the potential hot seat, while making moves to win now, Keenan Allen, and then draft a qb
      That's not building a winning team
      On top of that look at all the first round qbs from just the last 5 years......how many are doing amazing

    • @andrewfurst5711
      @andrewfurst5711 26 дней назад

      Fields was getting better every year, and he had to deal with a coaching transition and new receivers. He never had a great o-line in front of him. Fields is taller than Williams, and Fields' college passing and running stats are better than Williams'. Fields played hurt and played hard, in college and as a pro.
      The Bears are just being who we thought they were, a directionless team with cheapskate owners. The Bears could have kept Fields, drafted Harrison Jr. and an o-line monster in the first round this year. Now it's back to square one with Williams, and I doubt he'll work out well for the team. In my view, Williams is not what you'd expect for a number 1 pick, and he'll be lucky to be a mid-level NFL QB, which won't happen until he gets a few years of experience anyway. This is not a Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Peyton Manning, etc. by any means. Fields was a lot better IMO, and they gave him away.

    With one of the worst WR groups in the NFL the Bears are literally a playoff team if Justin doesn't miss 4 games and their defense doesn't collapse against the Broncos and Lions. These guys are paid to do this yet have no context on the Bears season whatsoever. The Bears simply did what they had to do. If this Williams kid is the generational talent people are making him out to be it would have been GM malpractice to stay with Fields. And yes, I believe the Steelers offer was the best they got and that is why they took it. It had nothing to do with what was best for Justin Fields. Business doesn't function that way. He had to go because you couldn't have a team's former first round pick in the same locker room as that team's current first round pick, not at that position. Will it work? Who's to say. How long have the Bears been looking for a franchise QB? Some teams are snake-bit at that spot. Trust me, as a Lions fan I know from what I speak. But the Bears are building a solid roster. Even if they take a step back or stay in neutral this season, watch out for them. They are going to be a good team for the foreseeable future. If this kid is all that and a bag of chips, they might slam the window shut on my Lions sooner than I would like. The NFC North is the new center of power in that conference. It's gonna be the black and blue division once again. 10-7 might win it but it will be a well-earned 10-7 as opposed to a weakling 13-4 record.

      Their offensive line is still suspect though. If they upgrade the O-line then the Bears offense should be legitimate.

    So much talk over a bust. Zac Wilson, Mac Jones, Kenny Pickett, Justin Fields, all busts that couldn't get it done at the NFL level. If they were good QBs this would've come through regardless of the situation they were in. Look at CJ Stroud and Jordan Love, put on teams full of rookies and nobodies, teams riddled with injuries, patched together O lines, nobodies for WRs and TE and yet they still shined bright. THIS is what good QBs on bad teams look like.

      To be fair Jordan love sat out for 4 years all those QBs you named didn’t sat out for a year or 2

    1. Kyle, what is up with your lighting? Bruh, you make money, go to Target and get yourself the podcast starter kit.
    2. Bears are a terrible organization that (Cutler aside) have basically never had a decent QB. They'll ruin Caleb. They should've turned this #1 pick into years worth of picks. But, again, they are a terrible organization. Chicago deserves better.

    Man finally. Fields was terrible. Stop with the excuses. Screw the Oline and receivers. He has his chance, he’s not worth 30 mil a year

    He mentioned the record like the Bears werent in a massive rebuild that stripped their entire roster TO be in this position they're in! The Bears defense at a point went 16 straight games giving up 30+ppg STOP TALKING ABOUT "HIS" RECORD. The Bears had one of the worst WR groups I've ever seen and a horrible offensive line. You can't blame guys like Justin and praise guys like Purdy, makes no sense.

    It means the bears got rid of NFL sucky player, non Super Bowl champion Justin fields. It also means they have an opportunity to draft the best football player in history, 15 and 0 season wise, national champ, JJ Mccarthy.
