Its nice to see the Philippines is changing, accepting different types of gay men rather than the conventional gay comedy stereotype while I was going to college there. Mabuhay!

Was in the Philippines and Taiwan for the holidays this year. It was Amazing, the Smart add is from the Philippines. Some Asian adds are so powerful emotionally. I feel in the west we are so commercialized we lost the art (or maybe never had it) to convey a message in simple subtle ways that people can relate to and that touch the heart. Thanks for these guys!
Nice selection. I had seen all of these. I liked the Taiwanese McDonald's the best. I didn't like the last one since it ended with the boy having to stay closeted to his Dad.

My Dad passed away a few months ago, at the age of 82. (A couple of months after you guys made this video. It wasn't sudden -- we knew it was coming.) I see these father/son commercials about fathers being proud of their gay sons, and I realize how blessed I've been. My Dad and I didn't have a specific conversation about my being gay until I was around 32 -- which was twenty-three years ago -- but he knew, and was fine with it, and with me, for way longer than that. I hope your dads are as supportive of you as mine was of me. Do me a favor? If they are, and you can still do this, don't take them for granted? Go give 'em a hug or something. :-D

My favorite is the one from Smart Communications. When my dad sent me a Facebook friend request, I actually ended up blocking him. He started treating me coldly but didn't say anything about it. It was so heartwarming.

The one with dad friends request on face book is from the Philippines... From smart communication, breaking the barrier. I never saw that when i was there... But it was really good. Made me feel good.
I'm from the Philippines. And the Smart Communication is from our country, and actually when I first saw it -- it drove me to tears because growing up in a country that is highly center on religion, it is kinda hard. And when they say that "Break Barriers" it really made me happy. I am happy that my family accepted me smoothly, but on the other end -- the people around me was harsh. So kudos to them.
Also te McCafe was also my fave when I saw that.

I most liked the one from Taiwan (MacD's) and the one from the Philippines (Smart Communications), but love that all of these commercials were, in all of the variety. And if I am not mistaken, I seem to remember that there was a followup to that French one.(MacD's), in which the son did tell his father the truth. ( But it is just a vague memory).

GREAT video. The best ad was the one about acceptance. We're brought up to follow strict straight rule. If one go straight they'll stop killing one's self to live their real selves. Whether straight or fully happy with their lives. LOVE, LIVE, LEARN n LAUGH MAC.

To the guys who published this video, I just want to fill you in on a little bit of information if you haven’t already found it. The French McDonald’s commercial was quite a few years ago. I’m sure it was before gay marriage was legal in the US. And it was still not really accepted even throughout much of Europe. This commercial may have even been from the time when it was still illegal for gays to openly serve in the US military. So this ad was very timely because it said “Come as you are.“ It was basically saying that McDonald’s accepts you even when the rest of the world may not. And that’s also another reason why there is no resolution in this commercial. I’m not saying that all of the gay civil rights issues have been resolved even today in 2020, but at the time this commercial was released, there was still a long way to go here in the US. The Levi’s commercial had two variations. One of them showed a girl pulling up her jeans and the man coming out of the phone booth. The other variation is what was shown here. This commercial is also from several years ago. I would put it around 2010. The heterosexual variation aired on mainstream television. The gay version aired on LOGO, the network here in the US that is dedicated to only gay programming. Not sure if it aired in other parts of the world or not.

The inner meaning of the Levi's ads, is that the levi's jeans would still fit even you come out. At first you would notice that it looks like the jeans couldn't fit for him then, when he pulling up the jeans he noticed that something is coming out so he decided and he doesn't hesitate to come out and the jeans fits
From a Muslim family . In short I came out and everyone accepted me . My brothers and sister , all their kids , mum n dad 💗

I have seen the French McDonalds (I believe that Bryan might be right about it's concept. I get why it might be the weakest advert as it wasn't clear on whenever the boy is out of the closest or the father fully accepted him but I can't deny that the boy is cute and I'm sure the advert means well) and probably the Levi advert before though I'm on with Pascal for the Taiwan McDonalds and smart communication for the best gay adverts. Also liked the Taco Bell

The Levi’s ad was pioneering at the time because it followed the exact same ad with a hetero couple- a guy pulled up his jeans and a girl appeared.
I really love your reactions, I was just like Pascal: "They should hold hands!" *getting disappointed * xD But I liked the unofficial Taco Bell video best, because they are just happy and live a normal life as a couple - something that should be like that in general. What is really funny is that I dreamt about you two this week :D I was in Canada for some reason and there was a church, I realized it more or less by accident, but then I saw you standing in front if it, holding hands and being just happy and I knew (I don't know how, dreams are so strange) that you were about to marry in this church in a few minutes, so I went into the church, which was really large and crowded because there were many LGBTQ+ marriages at the same time that time (in the dream that seemed completely normal to me). So I wanted to stay in the church for your wedding but there was a woman who spotted me and told me I couldn't stay because I wasn't invited and forced me to go. When I tried to get into the church again (I was so scary to miss the ceremony), I woke up. But this was so cute! I don't know if you would like to marry in a church but I love this dream and I had to tell you :D
The FULL version of the French McD does make the poiint also. . . . . But I like the Coke ad best. There is a Doritos that is similar in style to the Coke ad
