- The Fast and The Furious IV (2009)
Opening scene car chase, Dom with his crew are hijacking gas truck / trailer.
1987 Buick Grand National GNX - Dom Toretto / Vin Diesel
Production team built 8 of these cars.and installed CNC slide brakes and Wilwood calipers in the rear to help facilitate stunt demands. Also the cars were slightly lowered. No actual GNXs were harmed in the making of the film. Some of the cars used were built-up Regals.
The Buick GNX was a hot rod version of the sleepy Buick Regal, and was claimed as the fastest production car ever built at the time. The all black appearance of the car also earned it the nickname “the Darth Vader car.”
1967 Chevrolet heist truck - Han Lue / Sung Kang
In the movie, it's supposed to be a diesel, but in reality it's powered by a gas-burning 502 cc V8.
1989 Chevrolet R-3500 Crew Cab - Tego / Tego Calderon
Was built on Crew Cab truck original chassis with double semi truck working rear axles. 572cc V8, 672hp and 2 x NOS
1981 Peterbilt 359 - Truck Driver / Alejandro Patino

Truck drivers are literally the most badass villains in this movie.
How is he a villain he is a victim here
Fast 4’s actually quite underrated. It was this instalment that saved the franchise.
@Aditya Luthra I liked 3
@PKD Orion Tokyo Drift argueably has the best car in it. The Green Mustang Hero car. And they start each movie like this,
@PKD Orion Tokyo Drift is a fan favourite (with some people) but it made the least amount of money. Universal took a gamble trying to save production costs by using unknown actors but in the end it fell far short of target numbers. It took less money to produce (they saved millions on casting) but also made less money at the box office. After Tokyo Drift flopped at the box office Universal considered killing off the franchise but went back on their mistake and rehired the original actors for #4
@Khem Husture no. Why?
@Khem Husture perhaps not. Though they’ve just gotten worse as they’ve gone on.
As a truck driver myself, i was routing for the driver. We face a lot of risks driving rigs. And companies don't care about us
god bless
When I️ first watched this I️ was rooting for Dom, now that I'm older I️'m rooting for the truck driver

That iguana had the ride of its life 😂 🦎
Poor Peterbilt 😢
You kno what's funny is dom and letty had to drive past the truck driver as they go back up the hill, imagine how awkward that would be
Lol. I never thought about that!

The coolest car of the entire saga!: the Buick Grand National!
I know right 🙂🙂
yeah if all other cars were priuses
(I think for me it would either be the evil red evo 9 or rocket bunny brz) forgive me but I'm a jdm lover although I love gt350rs
do you know what's the name of the grand national transmission?
@@animehaven886 gm 200 R4 transmission

I like how that GNX turns into a V8 from time to time
I think it's an LS swapped one
@@waserdert6259Yes, all the cars had Chevrolet drivetrains, they were easier to swap out and mix and match to get the cars ready for filming. That's why even the imports will sometimes sound like a Chevy.
@@kellymcmahon6326 lol imports with v8s😂😂
Came looking for this comment
I can you tell that just by looking @ it?
This particular scene, is what make me fall in love with the great grand buick!
Now this is a real fast and furious scene . Just comparing it to that hobbs and shaw crap.
Yeahhhh agreed with you....Hobbs and shaw just turn into a fight but this scene seems logic for us because they need that fuel gas tank
lol this is the scene that created Hobbs and Shaw. This is the moment that the fast and furious franchise said we are now gonna be an over the top action movie with fast cars mixed in.
@@Cartman4wesome my opinion this scene is normal for all the street racers....they need a fuel gas tank....they can just buy that fuel gas tank....but if you know how the street racers Brain you understand why they robbed the gas tank
@@slimshady7335 bruh nothing about this scene is realistic lol
@@camraging641 ok
This scene made automatic transmissions look cool way before they actually were.
Automatics still aren't cool.
@@nathanjohansen7169 yeah to you why you think they sell a hell of a lot more
@@ttamcc.4674 Are you asking why they sell more automatics? The benefits that manual transmissions offered have diminished as automatic transmissions have improved over the years, but people are also lazy and need a free hand to text and take selfies. Manual steering wheels will eventually be replaced by self driving cars. Driving is seen as a chore for most people.

Fast 4 is definitely the most underrated one out of the who series. I hear no one talking about it
lol bc there’s nothing to talk about 😂
I love how the grand nation sounds like a real grand national at the beginning, and then all of a sudden turns into a v8 when dom goes into “family” mode 😂
It’s hilarious too because it starts to sound like a v8 at 3:52 and he just has that Family mode face activated
It probably was a v8. Don't forget, in the beginning, the racers would have regular imports that are pimped out. Dom liked the old-school muscle cars but he would be crazy to race with them with their stock tune up
@@2leg1t2qwt5 what I’m saying is within the same scene, it somehow changed engines
The franchise actually built several Buick regals and cloned them into GNs with 350 v8s . Grand nationals were never used in this movie. Probably for the best.
@@dieselburner4461 I’m just referring to the inconsistency of engine note
6:22 The chills of that shot always go right up my spine.
Lol same I held my breath the whole time during this scene while watching fast 1
Really? It looks so fake lol
Really? It looks so fake lol
@bradIeyscarreviews Meh, it's a better scene than the bullshit they did with the newer movies like Fast X...I saw the part with the dam in the trailer and I just couldn't...lol
@@SledRider-bf3ih it looks so fake
The funny thing is that if Letty had just held on to the trailer Tego was hooked to, there wouldn't have been any need for that downhill race.
nor for Dom to spin the GN 360 degrees--it was already backwards pointing up hill, so he had to spin it around to point uphill again?
Absolutely
@Apostolos Ginnakidis Wut?
I love that beautiful GNX badass

It’s still good just less about cars and more guns and mission impossible
Once Dom turned the car around before going under the bouncing truck, Never seen such confidence in a guy's face lol
For me fast 4 is the one that changed the dinamic of the franchise. It was after Letty's death that "family" becomes what Dom wishes to protect at all cost, it's his way to go. Their relationship is more grounded in this one. Mia and Brian get serious. I just love this movie and how it paved the way to the other ones.
6:03 I like that part!
Not going to lie.. my heart sank the minute that truck hit the GNX 😂. Such a beautiful ride, 100% my dream car.
You can’t find it anywhere anymore 😈 sorry bud
That's a regular gn
Thats a GNX, hence the front fenders... dead giveaway. Fast and furious franchise is known for making clone cars for movies but since this is a old movie i bet they destroyed a real GNX.@@Disciple_of_God.

Movie Caroff 2 da big leagues in his trap career
Funny hearing all the characters that complained about not robbing banks would end up helping dom rob a safe in the next movie
These shiny-fancy movies how hypnotizically curtains our thinking that we are seeing everything but still cant see the wrong, i always feel bad for truck drivers shown getting robbed off, killed off, bullying or teasing by civilian cars...
Hey a Big Thanks to you for bringing our stuff from one corner to other corner of the world, just like farmers and others, you guys are also backbone of our community!! Again thanks!
Dom is the greatest heist leader in the Fast franchise ever!
Yes

That scene gets me every time!
3:36 best part 🤣🤣🤣

thanks for the entertainment Paul ...rip
best scene, the Buick is superb
The grand national did most of that, Dom just had a front row seat 😂😂
and this is what caused the California wildfire
unbelievable
They where in Domenican Republic
Two places to leave your brain at the door. A church or a movie theater showing a Fast and Furious movie. One will want you to believe in flying horses and talking snakes. The other wants you to believe you can parachute a 4,000 lb car into dense woods, land on all fours and casually drive away. Both are equally ridiculous.
@@VoIPPortland welp this didn't age well. Especially when you look at the atheist nowadays.
@@jacobleech3136 the scene was filmed in California
As soon as a trailer is uncoupled wouldn't the spring brakes come on that are pneumatically released... Although not much in this scene aligns with basic physics or reality.
not to mention, that there are two tanker trailers coupled to each of those modified pickup trucks, probably around 20-30 tons each, which means around 60 tons for each pickup.
Would he also feel the load lighten up a bit?
@@HenzzmanThe math isn't mathing my dude. From my understanding, a fully loaded truck and trailer is about 60 thousand lbs. Fuel weighs a lot, but those tankers are both shorter, and narrower in terms of exterior dimensions.
So I'm willing to be maybe around 15 to 20,000 lbs per trailer. Modern trucks can haul over 30,000 lbs for extended periods of time with zero issues. So I imagine pickups heavily modified for this specific task would be fine.
That ole grand national looking good in this scene
oh my lord that was good
6:08 goosebumps😍
How it’s about to be if these gas prices keep climbing
1:05 His iguana (or whatever that thing is, I know it belongs to the lizard species) is sooo cute. 😍
How are you? I hope you're staying safe that's should be our priority.where are you from❤?
that GNX is the sexiest car of the franchise. period
The kenworth they killed in this scene was a better truck
Letty would have been screwed after Dom hit the trailer with the car. The rear axle was bent very badly, then suddenly it was straight again. Magic
So if you look at that scene more carefully, it was actually the axle on the tank that Rico and Tego were attached to, not the one that Letty was holding onto, that got broken. You can see from the shot at exactly 4:39 that Dom's car is facing the same way as the tank that just got its axle broken. As we see in the next scene, Dom is driving in reverse and he turned around before he hit the truck, so the trailer that Letty was holding onto must be behind him in the shot at 4:39. That means the trailer that had its axle broken was the one that was connected to the truck Rico and Tego were driving. Rico and Tego slammed the brakes after the impact, so we presume that trailer was still okay.
"Letty Jump I gotchu" and still does they are so cute 🙂

Anyone else besides me want that 1967 Chevrolet C-10 Han was driving like a Boss?
Yes and that quad cab squarebody😍😍
Love this part!
my best intro of F&F ever!!
With the way gas prices are now this scenario is kind of realistic lol
the way he jumped out with the lizard sent me😭😭😭
loved it still a racing movie at this point
Im no expert in physics but surly the truck driver should of felt a difference in weight and realised something was up after the first 2 tankers went before realising Letty was there?
After the two first trailer being break off, there would have been a major leak in the air brake circuit causing all brake to be activated... The whole truck would have made an emergency braking, that is a safety feature (no air=full brake)
Chris Woods i
Chris the laws physics only applies sometimes in these movies.
@@MultiKlip1 yes I think soo!
@@MultiKlip1 Yeah, if we're going to ignore that then trivial matters like vehicles managing to do 60mph in reverse and how air brakes work (How are those flatbeds going to tow trailers without air supply?) then difference in trailer weight is pretty trivial.

Dom: LETTY!!! GIVE ME YOUR HAND!!!
Letty: I CAN'T REACH!!!

Best thing about this scene is the Buick
Very very fantastic jump
I love that orange Chevy Truck😍
That Grand National is SO beast MODE..AAAUUUGGGH , yeah...🤑
They make that GNX V6 sound lika a V8 lol
Dave Brinyjof
She sounds more powerful that way
Lucky Ridah i know she does but the car is a V6 lol and the sound effect they had was of a more torky V8 engine.....i love the buick GNX to death just like i love the Olds 442 and the Pontiac RAM AIR but the GNX had a smaller V6 rather than a V8 which the cutlass 442 and the firebird had in the 80s thats why its weird for me watching the movie with a GNX that sounds like it has a V8 when its preformance GNX has a V6 not a V8 lol
That's cause those fake GNX's used in the movie did have V8 motors. For one of the scenes they even flipped a chassis round to make it drive backwards..
Not A GNX
exxr i know they were hotrod regals but i didnt think they were v8 or are hotrods v8s period lol xD
This is why I love that gnx
It's not a GNX, it's a Grand National
NOICE FAST BRAIN! I love the dangerous life!
