I’m a waitress at a diner. We have a receipt spike thing. We just call it a receipt holder/spindle. Nice touch! Love this project! Edit: I would love to see this style with a diner. This is my kind of art.
Thank you Carissa! Good to know I was not far off on the name of the spike ;) I am sure this will be my style for years to come so a diner is not out of the realm of possibilities!
Gosh this is turning out AMAZING!! You're inspiring me to want to try an abandoned Police Department. With old evidence, blood samples, evidence boxes, etc!!
Ara, you are such a tease! You are making me more and more curious about the backstory. Great job on all of this. I love the apron. When you were placing the premade items on the counter, I was saying no! to myself, because I couldn't believe you would glue them in without aging them. Then you came in with the paint and I could relax again. I now understand that it is better to blend the aging with the surroundings. And you should name the rat "Phoenix" because he's rising (thriving) from the ashes of that coffee shop. Beautiful work (and that floor is so fantastic. I'm going to have to watch that video again).
Haha Heather! I would have done the same at myself ;) But yes aging them in place is sometimes easier when there are so many little pieces too! Love the name suggestion as well! I will have to pick one out of a hat... they are all so good!
So cute! I just love all the attention to details! WOW! After all of these years I have finally figured out why I don't wear aprons, "They're complicated!" 😃
That tip jar is looking as real as it gets..love the dirty water idea! Here in the delta that would be filled with mosquito larvae, lol. And so many great ideas for the rat's name it's going to be hard to choose. I'll throw one in just for fun because where you have coffee and tea you would also have a (drum roll...) Crumpet! :-) Great job as always. Thanks for the video!
Since coffee has a lot of nicknames... how about the mouse be named after one of them... like Java?? Or Joe?? I just love your coffee shop!! Its amazing to see how creative you are with details and storylines. Love it!! Great job!! Can't wait to see what's next.

Love, love, love the coffee shop!! It is wonderful. On the rat, when he was a child, Michael Jackson sang a song about his pet rat, Ben. So Ben was the first thing that popped into my mind for your rat. You can have "a friend like Ben."

This is turning out so great and I am touched that the owner's name is Tess. That's the name I go by...so I am suggesting the name Nigel for the rat. He needs a sophisticated name since he lives in such an elegant place.
I am so glad to hear that but I hope you still feel touched after you hear the story of the place! Tess causes a bit of trouble... And I love the name Nigel!
The additions look great! When working at Pearl's Arts & Crafts, most of us carried a writing instrument of choice on our apron. The new resident's name can be Pinto...for size and coloring. Love what you've done. Much love to all.
Brilliant additions, love them all - though I would have put the pen on the floor as it wouldn't have stayed on the counter-top all these years. Perhaps some stuffing/straw type threads round the base of the chair as well as some leaves so your little guy (or should that be girl) can really make a nest? You could potentially perhaps make a couple of fungus/mushrooms growing out of the top of your mouldy food in the basket, as nature is reclaiming the coffee shop? Spider/ladybird nests could also be used? Can't wait for your next range of makes for the shop. x
Thank you so much for the suggestions! And you are probably right about the pen but I loved it so much I wanted to make sure it could be seen really well ;) Hmmm... I def need some fungus ;)
Looks great 👍😀 The little rat living in the chair is great👍😁 I bought a house with a loaf of bread for my Italian window scene and I sometimes place it under the bench outside the window and sometimes it's on the window sill, I left him loose to be able to move him around 👍😁 I plan to put him in another French roombox scene too down the road 👍😁
I love the idea of keeping him loose to move him around. And I think I will do that too! Especially since he's the only living and moving thing in the shop!😄💖

Well, no wonder she went out of business, leaving her manky dishes on the front counter LOL! The spike is just called a spike (desk spike, order spike, receipt spike depending where you buy it from). Gorgeous little mousey should be called Cupcake or Muffin, as he's not there for the caffeine, he's there for the goodies.
