I picked up a Godin Session this past Monday (November 18, 2024) and I had no idea that a guitar could be this good. I already have a Godin Solidac but that's more of an LP-style single-cut heavy guitar (solid Silver Maple body and Mahogany neck). I'm more of a Strat guy, not necessarily because of the tones (because all of the four major design archetypes are capable of incresible tones), but the comfort and lighter weight of a Strat-type are things that I really appreciate. With a Strat-type with the Godin Session's level of quality, it's like playing guitar on easy mode. I realised that I had never properly understood the term "playability" until I tried playing my Session. The Session has a humbucker and my Session has been modded. Gone are the single-coil pickups and in their place are hot-rail humbuckers. I can still get single-coil tones by splitting the bridge pickup but the humbuckers do sound incredible.
Interesting. Looks very similar to the new Yamaha Pacifica (especially the pickguard shape) and also in the same market as the Ibanez AZ2204. It's a great time to be an HSS guitar player for sure, some really high quality options available.
I didn't think of that, but you're right, it does! I shot this before Yamaha dropped the new Pacificas... if I shot this after that I probably would have noticed that fact! HSS guitars are my favourite and I agree, I'm in HSS heaven these days!
You are correct - the “Hype sheet” says it on the website… godinguitars.wpenginepowered.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/52257_Session_HT_Arctik_Blue_MN.pdf
Shape, pick guard actually reminds me of the Roland 505 - same type of HSS pioneer model Neal Schon was working magic on on in the recorded Houston ‘81 concert. Got an earlier model. Pity about the price in the last year or so. Satin finish, plain guard, metal knobs.
You are an amazing artist really leigh ❤❤❤you are my guitar hero really i hope to see you at stand blackstar here in italy in Padova at guitar show Padova ❤❤❤to meet you and be your friend its my dream ❤❤🌟🌞🌞🎸🎸My name is mahdi
nice guitar but its pretty much the same price as my japanese ibanez AZ for which you get 24 stainless steel frets and 10 tones, that pickguard is a pretty ugly shape too lol

That blue is incredible! 😍
I really liked this colour!
I love it. Gonna buy it
It’s a really fun guitar, sounds and feels great!

The body of a Godin Session is always made of Canadian Laurentian Basswood.
i'm hearing a intonation issue or something?
I'm probably playing a few wrong notes haha
@@LeighFugeGuitar proably! coz you sound good in your other videos. i still think it's a tuning issue than you play wrong notes.
yes, you are correct, it's out of tune - flat.
I tried once. Nice lively guitar but neck felt too small in my hands. Too bad

This guitar is anything but ugly, and it doesn't sound thin at all. I think it is just great 👌🤟💫
