Hi Dave , very nice video , thanks for all the information, I would just add for you to place a female hydraulic in one side of the valve and the male on the other side , so then when saving the auger you can just plug them in and not worry with leaks
Hi Dave, I found that when I added quick couplings to my Chigger the attachment hoses got uncomfortably close to the tipping linkages when fully crowded out. The auxiliary ports on these Chiggers are quite far down the dipper arm. I made a couple of brackets to move the auxiliary blocks back two inches, works well and feels a bit safer.
Hello, if you put the male quick connector on one side of the arm and female on the other, you'll never have to think about which line connects to which side and the controls will always be the same.
After ordering and waiting for the BSPP quick connects from the UK, I finally got my Mini-Ex plumbed as you described in your excellent video. I couldn't find the right M-M BSPP adapter, so had to weld two together end to end. But it works! Now I can finally use the grapple, augur and tilt bucket attachments. Thanks again for helping me to get mine going.
It is shame Patrick that you had the trouble sourcing the parts local and you had to look to the UK. Have to say I did not have much help from the retailer of the mini digger initially -but you would think a lot of people would be asking for the same conversion.
One of my first mods I did was add some aggi quick couplers. I bought 3 pairs actually, for my tilt bucket and my auger. Was a pain to to get the adapter for it. Had to machine one myself as the hydraulic shop didn’t have the right one.
Excellent video. Just what need. I searched RUclips, and this is the only one that explains in clear detail what is needed, I have several attachments for my mini-ex (augur, hammer, tilt bucket, thumb with cables) that I will need to purchase attachments for. I still need to find the valves for the third function, but now I know how to proceed. Thank you very much!
Great video - I need to do this for my auger as well. I will research a supplier near to me. Every time I watch your videos, I end up with another project. 🤣
Hey Dave, I’m in Sydney and have a UME12. I want to do this conversion for my auger AND jackhammer attachments. Will a Pirtek store be able to provide all I need. With 2 attachments, I will need an extra set of the 3/8-8L nipple converter. Wondering if Alex from UHI can send me a set rather than sourcing from Pirtek? Would love your thoughts? Thanks
@@matthewsherlock296 if you look in the video description there are the part numbers from Pirtek that I used. From memory they had everything in stock except the metric 8L connector that was ordered overnight. I don't know if UHI offer these kits now. At the time I rang Alex and he wasn't any help. Pirtek were brilliant! Cheers Dave.
Would like to do this to my new mini excavator, most of what I can find in Quick couplers here in the US are NPT, so would you know where to find the adaptor to convert to NPT?
Hello Robert. You will need the 3/8" BSPP to 3/8" NPT coupler. This is the first bit that goes into the valve body block. Then all the quick connect couplers will also have to be NPT. I had a quick look and found part number 9007-06-06 plus the bonded seal 9500-06 from an online store in the US at this web address: www.hydraulicsdirect.com/BSPP-to-NPTF-p/9007.htm Give them a call and they should have everything you need. Thanks for watching - Dave.
Great video! Having multiple attachments.....Im in New York USA,,,, my problem is finding the 08 metric lite [which I believe is metric 14 x 1.5 thread] to US 3/8 NTP ! Do you have ANY suggestions????????? My brain has turned to mush trying to figure this out.....lol
Hello Mike. I had a similar enquiry from Robert (below) and I suggested this site in the US. www.hydraulicsdirect.com/Metric-fittings-s/1918.htm The company is in Denver ,CO but maybe you talk with them to see if there is a fitting to NPT. Cheers Dave.
Tremendously helpful video. Just bought a Chinese digger and never knew BSPP from NPT but now I do. Thank you for explaining it so well.

Excellent clear video on what is needed. Good job.
Great video thanks for the info

Thanks Ian. Looks like you are going to have lots more projects then. 👍
why wouldn't you use flat face connectors and not worry about having covers?

Mike, we’re you able to get the couplers from the linked site?
@@fredduncan1610 I have not... the fault is more mine than the site. I have gotten used to just using a wrench and will probably stick with it.
Any video how to get track back on??
