Nice video, but i changed my mind about getting one. i think Manticore is well overpriced for what you get, and to me, 50% more power, more depth that's marketing, and yes, all the Minelabs i owned over the years always struggled on ploughed fields . For the price of £1800 i expect this detector to be awesome in all terrains.
Tom great video sir. Still love my quest Q60 but the Maticore looks the beast..lol.. Thanks for the recommendation for the new Quest pinpointer will order that from joan allen next week. Just wondered also Tom if you found any information on the Spanish coils for the Q30 and Q60s. Kind regards Ian and Connor Green.
Was out the past couple of days with my manticore & it slotted so easily into the place of the nox 800. The perfect step up from the nox. It just seemed to make more sense from the visual hints on the screen to what I was digging. It didn't coz me any bother at all under pylons & I really felt comfortable with it in almost every way,,,2 niggles though... The bolt on the coil loosens quite often & when clamping and adjusting the shaft, the shaft with the coil spins. It would have been better if it was fixed like on the ctx.
There are lots of people saying the same thing about the shaft and the coil bolt working loose. I had another meeting last night with Mark Lawrie Minelab's chief engineer and they are working on some of the problems that have been raised.
Cheers for the video 😊 On plough use prospecting tones and on mineralised soil don’t ground balance best leaving it on zero, agree the headphones are pants 😉 H H
It’s from Optimist spades, they custom make and engrave them for you. If you look through my videos there is one about just that spade. Fantastic spades from a fantastic company, I highly recommend them 👌
@@HiddenHistoryHuntersDetecting looks like a good shovel, good blade lenght and widt, angle of the blade/shaft as well. Might be a little expensive to get one, if you live Holland like I do. Will have a look, thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
In terms of the 900 vs the 800 the 900’is all round better in lots of subtle ways. It’s faster, much more stable around EMI and its lighter with better build quality. I would say it would definitely be an upgrade from the 600 👍
I have so far not been impressed with mine. I have not seen a noticeable increase in depth. If I turn it up to try to get more depth I do see a noticeable increase in chatter. They advertise it to be more powerful and then tell you to turn down the sens which sort of negates the purpose for more power. What is the use of more power if one can not use it? It is a nicely built machine but in my opinion it does not give 3 times the performance over other machines for 3 times the price. Legend does 90-95% of what the Manticore can do for $500 vs $1500. Manticore should be in the $550- $600 price range if one compares price to performance. I think Minelab made big claims about Manticore but it is struggling to be the super duper detector is was supposed to be. Dont get me wrong, it is a pretty good detector, but I do not think it is $1500 worthy. If minelab can create an update to get it up to match the price and the hype I may change my mind but I do not think it is there yet.
$1500.00 they said, this equates to about £1200.00 in English money. Great I thought, I'm going to get one. But then my jaw dropped when I saw the real price!!!!!!!!!!!! £1700.00. I will be sticking with my NOX 800.

The price is BULLSHIT
I wondered what make the pinpointer was, it seems to have a nice high volume which many don't have.
Same here. Managed to find one. Mostly beach detecting in Cali. Like the🤓 2D screen. A keeper.

Was thinking 900. Idk. I don't know if it will be an upgrade from my nox 600. I'm going to need a new one any ways . My speaker is going out.

When is your giveaway happening?
Soon, I will announce it prior to the draw 👍
98 percent of all finds reported to the PAS come from cultivated fields. i.e. ploughed land. ! So if the Manticore does not work well on ploughed? ??

George ii not the first coin
Yeah I realised that after the edit, not sure what I was thinking, well clearly I wasn't thinking
George II bud seems to iron grunt over conductive targets.
Ha ha, yeah I watched it back in the edit and realised I had said George I 😂 It seems I was wrong again, must try harder 😂
@@HiddenHistoryHuntersDetecting 😂 I knew you would know who it was 😂
$2500 . Me thinks not .

The 800 is a great machine, mine served me well for many years.
