O Ben, thanks for being a friend to Mark, you may make a scrapper out of him but if not his friendship is life saving. Great video as always and it would be fun to see you scrap all that in your series making it #3. Someday you might make it back to your garage😀
Just watched your video and what luck you have finding all those PC 's and the pile of circuit boards and cables ! You were right to bring your mate with you , he brought you good luck ! Another great video !
I'm sure Ben is overwhelmed with stuff...that being said I would have taken it apart and given it a good 91% iso alcohol bath let dry overnight and hoped for the best.
I've found that life is about having unique experiences. doing the same thing over and over will drive ya nuts. Ben, you had a good haul of ewaste, had a unique experience with someone else riding shotgun and from the post he put up, you lended an ear to someone in need. A complete win of a day.
By cutting the cords and leaving the item on the roadside, you are making it more difficult for someone to pick it up and use it thereby contributing to waste. I think you're a selfish.
crappy multimeter?! that was a FLUKE! they are top of the range!!! 😳😳😳 great to see you mark! hope we get to see you more! ben... how bout the two of ya do scrapping together? get down your scrapping piles! lol excellent vid btw 😊
I want to say a big thanks to Ben. Hope I didn't slow you down too much mate. Driving round my area can be a serious h!#dFu#k in those narrow streets 😉 To All, I went through a pretty big breakdown and serious life changing events that put me in a pretty dark place with no family or close friends around me. Too common for us older guys! Was told by my doctor to get out of the house and have some fun. DON'T sit at Home. After a moments thought and a flyer about my councils Hard Rubbish collection, thought I do know someone. I think I just about filled the old Merc on a previous encounter from my own junk, and being invited down to Ben's place last year, thought I'd reach out. The sparkling personality and sense of humour must have made a lasting impression 😜 Viewers of this missed a lot of the conversation in the van (probably good 😉) but really fun and totally what I needed,.so thanks. If there's a next time I'm bringing a pushbike, my phone and Vintage Stereo equipment will be on the hit list (if it ever stops freakin raining here). To all you folks out there feeling down and bruised, there's always someone you can talk to, doesn't have to be Beyond Blue, Lifeline etc, just someone, anyone who'll listen and actually better if they're outside your inner circle. thanks again mate and all the best to all. Mark
@@eWasteBen no stress bud, whatever timing works. Cheers. ps Should be a set of Mechanics gloves in one of the pockets. If they fit you then keep em. Good barrier between you and all that metal you handle. ;)
you did ace mark! maybe ben could make you a regular?! how bout it ben? maybe you could both team up and clear that ton of stuff in bens yard?! 😊 i can see it now... ben, mark and scrapper chuck all scrapping at once 😊😂
I agree, was just going to comment on that .instead of passing a working machine along (anything from the vacuums to keyboards) he kills everything and fills thehe dump land fill more...
I love that I found your video. I live in guatemala and you can´t really do that since it is a poor country people just don´t throw away their sutff. I used to live in Toronto and there was so much on the streets i ended up decorating my whole apartament and it looked amazing. My uncle used to live in new your and he decorated his apartament also with streetfinds and ended up wining an award for best decorated apartment.
I agree with you, Ben that pile of boards looked very bizarre. It didn't look like a pile of broken parts from a repair shop but rather like somebody was collecting all kinds of electronics and then went berserk on them.
Amazed how much stuff was in that electronics pile. I pulled about half as much as you out of that same pile on Saturday and looks like they went back and added more.
You are so lucky!!!!!!!!! to be finding ' All pc/motherboards but that has to come to an end as only so many pc's can be updated in a certain time and it seems like your whole neighbourhood updated their pc's at the same time. So I think you should broaden your horizons . You have to run dry shortly.l
Your a bloke after my own heart mate.I try to pick off copper when I see it and process it at the moment I’m trying to save up enough to scrap by Christmas so I can get a motor and battery etc for my bike as I don’t drive it will help me find work easier by having an electric bike.
I'm always sad when your videos come to an end. Thank you for taking Mark out, sounds like it did him some good. Can't wait for the next video. All the best, Poo
Over here in the U.S. its the opposite. Youll herdly ever find e waste like this. Everyone goes for the steel, aluminum, copper scrap though. Thats usually what the main focus is here. Not sure why theres a lack of ewaste being tossed over here lol
great pace with your mate, you need a wheel barrow! lol. For real Ben there has been more than once where you could have used a small wheel barrow maybe mounted to a rack on the back of the van.
I picked up that Apple as well however I didn't check it out until I returned home. Now left with a scrapped Apple. Surprised at the weight of the outer skin.
yeah they are heavy empty, you can always use it to fill up with screws and junk and send to the scrap yard as pressing steel. They're getting collectable too so maybe someone might buy the empty case
@Taylor Gotcha. You mean ad selling. LOL. When you're scrapping though, you don't want to be a horder. Antiques pile high and not everybody will BUY IT. I have the same problem he does. We don't have time to ad sell things. Why? You could be sitting for YEARS w/out payment. When you scrap for NOW MONEY, because you need it. You don't have time for that and in the long run it does you no good.
I love doing the same thing as you! Going around and street scrapping. I just don't have a vehicle. Otherwise, I would work from home and go nutz looking for stuff. If I lived in Aussie, I'd love to go w/ you and get some scrap! 💙💙💙
funny... at first i thought you had a manikin sitting in your truck. until i saw it was driving. i think he should have helped you by picking up all those free circuit boards.
Congratulations on the nice stuff, that's a heap of electronics!! I hope you had a fun day with your mate too! Next time you get a pile of low grade boards or any specific item in bulk it might be fun to put in short before and after shots of (in this case) the low grade bin and the cup of nice bits of copper that you managed to pull off. I understand that you might not have finished the whole load in one go, so it wouldn't work, but I wanted to leave it as a suggestion. Looking forward to your next video! :D
The circuitry on them. If they're still in decent condition, scrap yards will resell them to big companies for reuse. Because of the bio things on those, bio labs take them apart and rework them back into society.
That's a sony pascal subwoofer with 6.5 inch speaker and it came with a 5.1 home theater system and it was one of the highest models sony made when it came out. It's about 20 years old but probably still in perfect working condition. Once when I was in Netherlands I could buy the whole 5.1 setup for 17 euros but I didn't know much about speakers back then :( You could take it for parts because there's a really nice board inside aswell with a big transformer and give the rest (enclosure and speaker) to some kid or for somene who collects speakers like me.
Wish it was like this in California. It's actually illegal to dismantle ewaste or appliances unless you're a certified processor. Scam collection is a thing, and passes under the radar. People set up temp collection points in retail business parking lots.
I've never seen anything like this in my life here in the States! People just leaving trash especially PC's on the streets? What in the hell? Wish I had that here. Do the trash companies actually pick that shit up and that's why they leave it out there? Here in the States it MUST BE IN A BIN with the lid shut for them to take it... Can I also ask why you cut and take the power cords? Do they contain gold as well?
Does the garbage truck pick the stuff up that people leave in front of their homes? I live in Canada, if we did that we would get fined for illegal dumping.
Ben, watching this again!! You were so excited!! Your happiness never gets old!!! Thanks for the smiles... again 😊
If I lived there I would never buy anything new. Looks like I could furnish my whole house in 1 day with all the good stuff they set out.

here in Ohio, im just a 13 year old kid. Im not aloud to bike around town for scrap picking. You have it made over there man. Keep it up!
Logitech , braun , sony powered subwoofer, sony home theater , lots of lcd led tv speakers. This video was very interesting.
thanks for another great video love the street scrapping

Have a GREAT Day!!!
What a laid back dude your mate is.

That is allot of pc's. I am lucky to have two in as many weeks as I started scrapping. Love it that there are no garbage cans.
So you put a bin in the van for cords... and then end up throwing everything BUT cords in it. Interesting.
there is no method to my madness
