Sweet deal Ryan! I got into solar a few years ago and built a portable solar setup for my family farm in Oregon since we'd lose power at least twice a year. Picked up a 300w Charging station for emergencies and it proved convenient when sleeping in my car during a 3 day road trip. Love those things.
Hey Zil! Thanks for commenting. I'm absolutely going to be getting at least a 100W solar panel for this little box. I could have used a small charging station like this many of times, so honestly the Rocksolar sponsorship timing was perfect. I've got a big overlanding trip setup for mid-summer that this will be essential to take with me. 2 weeks in the bush and my cameras don't charge off of river water and bark. It's going to be a great addition.
(Edited for spelling) I agree. so if it was 4 times the price, and not readily available, would you still buy it? Your phone, your computer, your car, your ATV/UTV etc.. all has chinese manufactured components in them. While I 100% agree that we in North America don't do a good enough job at keeping manufacturing jobs at home, the fact remains that there are countries much more equipped and able to produce useful products like this. I'm the one who contacted Rocksolar because they had offices in both the US and in Canada, i spoke to a Canadian citizen working out of a Canadian warehouse and was shipped using Canadian shipping meathods .. ie. Purolator Canada. This may be a Chinese manufactured piece of equipment, however i personally don't see issue with the company itself. Hense why i hand picked this unit and company to do sponsorship with.
@rocksolars Thank you very much for the oppourtunity to work with you. As you can tell by the video, the product was already useful from day one!
