Thank you Steve, that is exactly what I needed, much better now that I know what to watch out for. It is basically shear scraping. I was trying to ride the bevel and it always ended up catching.
Awesome. I noticed though, maybe I am wrong...that many instruction videos are made in wood that looks like green poplar. As I am novice furniture maker, would like to see some work in oak 😊
All my videos are in kiln dry wood. I have many many videos on my instagram but still a few on RUclips. These are old but in oak ruclips.net/video/gUH6wq9cG24/видео.htmlsi=2AqVblJsUNCAjfIA ruclips.net/video/3Bk-K_Ativs/видео.htmlsi=PMktT3rThCst86Fg ruclips.net/video/fwBasc43e0E/видео.htmlsi=5D7fmM1oaPjH2Rl1 ruclips.net/video/rQECBmRcVw8/видео.htmlsi=KP8PFtp-cjGJ1VPT
I’m an odd one, I find the cove easier than a bead, I’ve also watched on a planing cut that I can make it all the way up the cutting edge without a catch? It’s the bevel I’m riding or what?
Straight to the point, no waffle. Excellent demo.
Thanks Al.
Thanks for the explanation. Your videos are excellent!
Thank you

Thank you for taking time to comment
Excellent video. I recently bought a radius skew chisel. It looks at me, i look at it. We're at that awkward stage of our relationship.
Thank you and enjoy the journey

It’s riding the bevel and good control. You obviously have good technique. It’s those who fear it that struggle relaxing makes it easier.
Is that the toe you’re using, or the heel of the skew?
It’s the heel
Is your skew that your using square across or has a slight skewed angle ? Good short vid 👍
It’s a slight skew around 15 degrees or 75 depending how you measure it. The camera angle is deceptive
