This is most beautiful piece of music sung with such feeling. The music was written by Joseph Parry a Welsh man. We sang it in our choir with the words “The love of Christ my Soul’s Redeemer” Dougie Colvin Ireland
I have been following this choir for at least 15 years, in the meantime the generations have changed, but their melodic line has remained clean, because they have a conductor who only accepts people with a musical vocation in the choir, i.e. those who have no idea what a second, a sharp and a D note in the key of F...☺️ Most of them will be amateurs too, but don't sing to hurt the neighbor's ear, or all the tenor singing when it's a baritone....!😥 I forced the ridiculousness a little, because male choirs have also multiplied in our country, fueling the deafness of genuine musicians.... Regarding the present singing, I reserve the right to be subjective and say that there is something sublime in their attitude of applying what they ask the conductor...! The climax is reached in the last stanza where, from a mezzoforte it goes to a forte, majestic both the voices and the accompanists...! By the way...! Hats off to the instrumentalists, who, although they played in the forte register, did not cover the voices...! Magnificent, splendid, ...!👏👏👏👏👏 Greetings from Sibiu, Romania😮
prachtige muziek,en zang!! Genieten!
De ouderwetse Psalmen blijven prachtig met een diepe inhoud. In deze setting ook erg mooi om naar te luisteren. Bedankt!
