Hello Pratima. I have never held this phone but I can tell you that issue with dark movies looking dark is common. For years I did not understand why. The reason is movies are meant to be seen in dark rooms, so they are intentionally dimly lit. If they were lit for outdoors you'd go blind in the cinemas. If I have a file of the film I watch it in VLC and turn up the brightness.
HEAVY emphasis on "budget". If you can afford a better phone, get one. This thing is a last resort and should be treated as such. I'm certain the good reviews are written by Oppo staff/contractors, they're wildly misleading.
