I found your information very useful as I have been deciding between the B8 & D9. My intended use is for flying & back packing on multi day trips so the more compact size & lower performance may be suitable over the higher spec D9 at double the price. Weight capacity is the same on both & the B8 is 1kg. heavier than the D9. Oh, but the lure of having the best over acceptable even at double the cost is very tempting. :)

Hi, same here - may i ask you what you did and how it went then? I'm scared about the weight (1,6 kg more than others, which adds burden also for climbing), but this B8 apart from the discs (on long descents, the small 20" wheels overheat easily and with rim brakes they melt the inner tyre tubes, VERY dangerous) has a very strong point.
That is, that because it's one of the few Tern whicn folds the handlebar inside the bike - sandwich, and MOREOVER this B8 has discs, it means that one side of the folded bike will be very strong (with only the little safety catch of the central main frame exposed).
Exposing only the fork and crank.
This means you should be able to lay it on the ground on one side, flat.
VERY useful on crowded trains when you have an ulper shelf for baggage :)
I did this many times with my old Dahon, put it flat over our heads like a suitcase :)
But Dahons (mostly) don't have discs.

@@dorianblue4229 Since there isn't a Tern dealer within reasonable distance to me. most have chosen to carry electric or cargo bikes so I decided to go with a different brand that is very compact when folded. It is half the cost of the D9. Will have to make a few trips to see how well I make out with it.

In the next videos, can you capture other angles of viewing the folded bicycle? So we could see how wide it is folded

Is B8 better than Brompton C line?

I just checked out a Brompton in the REI store. I found the Brompton to be a low quality bike - lots of plastic parts, very thin fenders, not impressive at all. Nearly anything would be as good.

Do u have any suggestion for price below RM2k, u've mentioned in d video there's better choices then B8 with d budget range. N if talking abt Tern, for the 3 Best Tern's technology u mentioned, can you suggest any entry model that it included? Hope you could assist :) thanks.

Any suggestions on upgrades to make this bike weigh less / lighter?

The first thing to do definitely crankset and also the wheelset.
The finishing kit too, good cost to weight ratio of saving
