As a long time viewer this channel is one of the best on RUclips. I am a huge fan of hunting but even those who are not big fans of hunting can still appreciate the film quality and editing. It has an very professional feel without being drowned in advertisements.
not a big fan of trophy hunting. shooting 2 of these animals for what. for pest control, yes you do have too but the farm creates the overpopulation problem partly themselves.
@@MissionaryInMexico farm means free food all year round. so more animals will survive through the hard times. they reproduce ...etc. yes, farms play a big role in overpopulation. take away the farm and population will drop.
Thanks for transporting me to magical Namibia and sharing your hunting adventure. Not only have you perfected your shooting skills over the years I have been happily following you, your video and story telling is absolutely first rate and deserving of prime time viewing on any television channel. Well done, Matt! Jess
Matt, your film production skills are truly amazing.Clearly, a heck of a lot of work has gone into this production and you and we as viewers benefit from a mini film here. Great great work mate!
I've been waiting for this video following the preview notification a few days ago. It was well worth the wait. Thanks and well done from Australia. David.
Another Acadamy Award nominee for Best Foreign Short. Very impressive. You have an exceptional eye, and work ethic getting those drone shots and the beautiful sunset and sunrises. You make it look easy, and I am sure it is not. Bravo!
Another fantastic, high quality, video! I've enjoyed your vids from the pigeon shoot and cook of years back, but for the past year or so, you've taken the filming, editing, and sound to a professional level. Once you can zoom in maintaining the quality, you'll be at BBC documentary level. The lodge, abundance of wildlife, and late afternoon light were just perfect! Thanks!
Matt, personally I don't know you but I know Reggie and his wife for many years already, quality people and friends. Awesome video from you both. Keep up the great work!
Great Video, I have saved up over 3 years! Finally going hunting this weekend, can't wait!! I am planning on shooting a Waterbuck as well, just need to skin it myself to ensure the meat is good.
In my opinion, your air rifle hunting videos are still the best, seems u have veered from your original "starting point" of your channel, there is nothin like watchin that pellet flying through the air and hitting its mark, again, just my opinion
Great video matt , I'm an air gunner myself but I'm not bothered if it's arrows, bullets or pellets mate just keep them coming ,cheers all the best !!!
By not taking the shot that could have potentially wounded the one behind the buck he wanted, that makes it a win in my book. Makes you a better hunter than if he had just shot to get the kill.
At 6.00min in. Those shoes Redge is wearing. Are they Courteney boots from Zimbabwe? My first pair are 17 years old. Very little tread left but they are still going.
Great video Matt. At the end of the video, you said the freezer was full of meat, did you get that meat back to SA or do the Namibians get to enjoy the chow?
I think we were just using cheap federal 150gr soft points. Bringing the rifle along was a last-minute decision so we just grabbed whatever we could off the shelf. They seemed to work OK though!
I was a little surprised to see that you were only using the .308 and with 150grn bullets. Of course, it is true that shot placement is really king but I would have thought a bigger gun might have been needed for such large animals. Still, your shots were spot on and the calibre worked fine so maybe I am underestimating the .308's capabilities.
Matt more on the technical side of things. Did you get a permit to transport the hides and horn to South Africa. What specific permit was required to move th trophy to South Africa. I have hunted in Namibia before and we only were able to bring the meat back not the hides and horns. So I was wondering which path to follow to bring trophies back.
Hey Matt. I'm planning to do some astro time lapses and I really like the speed of the ones 10:46 you did in this video. What interval did you use for these? Not the exposure (I get that part, I will be doing 25 sec exposures with my x-t2), just the interval. I don't want the time lapse video to be too slow. Thanks.
Hey Jaques, I can’t remember exactly but I think the interval was around 7 seconds... just enough to see the preview of the previous shot before the next one starts. I prefer to make slow timelapses and then speed them up on Premiere using frame blending to make it smoother.
Redge, it was nice of you to “Make a Wish” for your grandmother by taking her on a bow hunt for sable in her waning years. It must’ve been a thrill for her. Glad she didn’t break a hip.
High Matt, great video as always 👍 I was just wondering why someone with your skill level did not take a head or spine shot from 120m? You did take the least risky shot which is ethical but from that range you could have that beautiful animal drop in its tracks rather than have it run off albeit not too far.
Waterbuck is the stinky one. I was a translator in ZA for people on game drives i always told guests that lions avoid waterbuck because they smell and taste so bad.
I do like all your videos. IF it wasn’t so long way from sweden i would have tried to go hunting both in South Africa and Namibia. But i am rather content with My moosehunth this autumn in the north of sweden. Sorry abouth My bad english spelling.
What do you do with meat and how do you bring the meat and horns back to SA? As an SA hunter, I've wanted to shoot in Namibia but am not sure what to do with the animal to bring it back to SA?
I notice he has not said a word about that makes me thing he is scared to speek about it which says alot . So what ever is going on over there it's not good
No farms have been taken away yet. We are still waiting to hear what is actually going to be the policy around the expropriation. Everyone is jumping the gun and fear mongering.
Sir I want to learn one thing from you. Which one is better between these two air riffle "850 FPS Air riffle or 575 FPS Air riffle" and Why ? Pls reply. Thank you
Higher the FPS , the greater the power , power equals distance and distance equals long range ethical shots , depending on the brand and quality of the rifle the better your rifle will be
Matt I'm curious to what your opinion on game farms being seized and handed over/ sold to those who dont know how to run them. I hope it doesn't affect you, your videos, or the great people in your videos. Great video as always though!
Hello, I would like to know which destination you are. give to the slaughtered animal and if for example you enjoy parts like horns for purposes such as handicrafts and cutlery thank you.

Giovanni m I believe Matt does all the Video editing himself as he left his job as a video editor to do this channel full time.

Matt what an awesome video! I was blown away by the length of this video i even got some snacks. Great work and congratulations on the animals.

Can you do some cooking segments on some of the game animals you harvest?
Oh that would be fun. In Wisconsin they bow hunt deer and my uncle has a local German deli make Summer Sausage with his kills.
You did a spectacular job filming and editing this hunt!!!!!
As always awesome video Matt...top notch

How is farms being taken away in south africa affecting you, and your community?
I think Matt would be wise not to touch this topic publicly until it touches his life or work.
I notice he has not said a word about that makes me thing he is scared to speek about it which says alot . So what ever is going on over there it's not good
I was wondering the same thing.
There's no other way to slice it but it's god-awful and wrong as hell.
