    Have you read Language at the Speed of Sight? I'm still working my way through it, but it's by a neuroscientist talking about reading and it's fascinating.

      It's by Mark Seidenberg. I'd be interested in what you thought. ❤️

    Im excited for this I have a 2 1/2 year old boy so I’m happy to see a video like this to prepare on what we could do. He’s been using that same binder❤️
    Ok I have to ask… how have you gotten him to use the activity and put it back? (Was this a struggle? Cause it has been over here) Does he throw things (I feel my son is still too young and hasn’t gotten over the throwing stage; he just turned 2 1/2)

    • @mama-yael
      @mama-yael  2 года назад +2

      Oh that's great!! So I do the activities with him and I direct him to put things back 😁👍. So yes, in some ways it's a struggle...he's the one who leaves things strewn all over the place. My son throws things too! But, it definitely been less and less the more he approaches age 3. I encourage you to be patient and consistent with your routines as he ebbs and flows in terms of behavior.

      My son will be 3 in August so I feel this! It's rough but also very age appropriate...though we are still working at it. I find making it into a little game is the most helpful. We often put fave a song on play freeze dance clean up! They have to try to "beat" the song and clean everything up before it's over. Plus, I periodically pause the song and they have to stop and freeze. Sometimes I have him and his sister race and see who can clean up the most items fastest. Other times I'll ask him to pick up specific items so he doesn't get so overwhelmed with all of the mess. We also incorporated a toy rotation into our lives and only have a small 4 cube shelf filled with toys out so cleaning up isn't as overwhelming since not every single toy is available.

      @@hannahwyatt2756 I love the idea of a clean up song freeze dance! What a great way to make cleaning up less like a chore. Toy rotation is a beautiful thing. I wish I were better at it though 😅. Do you follow a specific schedule?

    • @hannahwyatt2756
      @hannahwyatt2756 2 года назад +1

      @@mama-yael I don't schedule it. I wait until the kiddos ask for a change or they completely stop playing with the current toys. It's roughly every month or so but really depends!

    • @mama-yael
      @mama-yael  2 года назад +2

      @@hannahwyatt2756 That makes sense. I try to do the same thing, but definitely fall off the train with it. Thank you so much for sharing all that with me!
