    I adore Rihanna. I would do crazy things just to be in the same room as her. HUGE fan, but I am simply not impressed with these formulas. The fragrance seems like such a rookie mistake to include. Witch hazel is problematic for a lot of people. The cleanser seemed so basic. The coolest thing about this launch is the packaging :/ This makes my heart sad.

    • @BossyCK12
      @BossyCK12 4 года назад +47

      There’s no “one product for everyone” witch hazel is mainly problematic for dry skin. I’m sure later like she said in the video she’ll expand.
      As far as cleanser, as long as the cleanser isn’t drying to the skin, all cleansers are basic. I wouldn’t expect anything else from a cleanser.

      Same. Can't use witch hazel at all, since it's a cross reactive allergy for birch allergy and anything fragrance in my skincare is a major no-no for me. I haven't checked out the rest of the ingredients, but it's something I'm probably not going to do, since I can't use it anyways.

      @@BossyCK12 The fragrance is still a huge problem though :-/ Like if they dropped those that would elevate the entire line from kinda bad to mediocre at least. Also nothing wrong with a basic (fragrance free...) cleanser, but this one costs over $20. The ingredients just do not justify this price at all

My thoughts on fragrance are genuine and professional and are corroborated by other derms, chemists and estheticians.

    The truth is the only reason this line is remotely getting good reviews is because it’s Rihanna. None of the products are better ingredient wise than even Kylie skin. If Kylie took out the same products, she’d be ripped to shreds. Sad to see influencers sell out like this. The desperation to stay on the PR list is real.

    • @FoodNinja12
      @FoodNinja12 4 года назад +4

      Kylie also had shit ingredients and the way she promoted her stuff? Childish.

      @taytayqueen7024 4 года назад +14

      Cool Cat w/ Sunnies This line has mediocre-shit ingredients too. Just because you pop Niacinamide in some product doesn’t make it a good ingredient list. There is no scientific data backing the ‘fruit’ ingredients she uses in this line. The non sell out skincare you tubers are speaking to truth, unlike the sell out ones. And we can clearly see which is which this time.

    • @taytayqueen7024
      @taytayqueen7024 4 года назад +10

      Ava Go and actually compare the skincare ingredients between Rihanna’s line and Kylies line minus the walnut scrub and come back and tell me that. Compare the cleanser, toner and the moisturiser ingredients. It’s 2020 and we have to praise a skincare line for using non scientifically proven ‘fruit extracts’. No way. (psa, not a Kylie fan. I am simply pointing out the truth that if Kylie came out with this line, she would be shit own by these influencers. But since it’s Rihanna, they sell out instantly)

    • @F.A457
      @F.A457 4 года назад +7

    • @taytayqueen7024
      @taytayqueen7024 4 года назад +12

      Felicia Adewunmi Ah yes. Being called a hater when I know for a fact that this line and it’s ingredients are sub par at best. Asked my dermatologist too, she gave it a hard pass. Whether you want to see it or not, the only reason public figures are giving this line a positive review is because they need to save face with the brand. There are literally a million other products on the market better than this line which makes purchasing this over others pointless. If you don’t want to acknowledge the bias, go ahead. But the truth is the truth whether you call it fenty or not 😂 Id rather be intelligent and keep my critical thinking abilities over being a slave fan.

    This is the only somewhat positive review about this skincare line that I’ve seen so far. But at the same time you are a Rihanna fan and regardless of what you say that will make you a little biased

    • @curlycoily4075
      @curlycoily4075 4 года назад +2

      Then you haven’t been watching any reviews. It’s getting a lot of great feedback.

    • @BossBrookeArmstrong

      Curly Coily I’ve watched four videos today alone and they all said what I’ve been feeling. It’s very basic. Nothing revolutionary. It won’t heal or treat any skin condition. And uses very highly irritating ingredients like fragrance and citrus fruits that could do a lot more harm than good. You must be watching Rihanna fans reviewing her products and of course they’ll have only good things to say. I’m watching actual skin care experts and dermatologists

    • @curlycoily4075
      @curlycoily4075 4 года назад +4

      Brooke Armstrong “Rihanna fans” are not the ones who were sent these products. Most who received them are skincare lovers and professionals, just like this reviewer. These aren’t “highly irritating ingredients” when they stated from the jump that there is fragrance in the products and that it’s less than one percent. Majority of people are not allergic to fragrance and actually prefer it, so long as it isn’t perfumey which this isn’t. If someone knows they’re allergic, then they should move on. It does not make the products bad.

    • @BossBrookeArmstrong
      @BossBrookeArmstrong 4 года назад +7

      Curly Coily actually you’re wrong. Fragrance is the most common skin irritant. And the percentage in one product means nothing. She includes fragrances in all three. So layering products with fragrance or any other irritating ingredient gives a cumulative affect on the skin, especially over a long period of time. Add to that using irritating ingredients in a sunscreen and going out in the sun which will exasperate the skin issues and irritation even more. All of which is backed up by science and research. She is basically selling products with anecdotal ingredients that smell nice. Aside from niacinamide and hyaluronic acid there’s nothing special about her products. And those ingredients can be found in a lot of products 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @curlycoily4075
      @curlycoily4075 4 года назад +3

      Brooke Armstrong then go shop at those brands, Brooke! Fragrance is the most common skin irritant for those who have skin sensitivities/allergies and it’s NOT the majority of people. People praise Korean skincare and a lot of their products contain fragrance too. If you think these ingredients are trash, then why continue to watch reviews about it? You said yourself that you watched four today. That sounds like a fan of something to me. Because when I don’t like ingredients in a product I’m not going out and watching anything about it. Good day.

    Hi
    I really hope you see this...
    I'm african and I just turned 30years old and for the last 3 years I have been experiencing skin problems that have grown progressively worse. At 21 I put together a skin care regime that seemed to work amazingly well for me but once I turned 27 things changed and I’ve been struggling ever since. I’ve listed my regimen below:
    Cleanser - granulated oatmeal, Manuka honey (active 20+) and water made into a paste
    Moisturiser - e45 intense recovery lotion
    Exfoliation - sugar, turmeric, granulated oatmeal, Manuka honey, olive oil and lemon juice (once a week)
    Mask - avocado, egg yolk, granulated oatmeal, turmeric, Manuka honey, olive oil (once a week for 30mins)
    I used to have oily skin with a very nice glow and everything seemed to be going really well but my skin stopped retaining moisture. I have changed my moisturiser multiple times in the last 2 years but no matter what I use my skin remains dull and extremely dry. It also seems to be hyper sensitised to any and everything I use and I have been getting darker and darker. I've also started to notice a loss in skin elasticty and volume especially in my cheeks, probably due to the constant dehydration.
    I’m just not sure what I should do anymore. I don’t think my skin can take much more of this before the damage becomes irreversible. Is there anything that you could suggest? What ingredients are safe to keep and which should I throw out.
    I started using Cetraben and Cerave but my skin showed sensitivity to the Cetraben and it darkened my skin quite a lot. So I've stuck with the Cerave moisturisering cream but as thick as it is it just dosn't seem to moisturize my skin at all. Would it be safe to mix melted unrefined cocoa butter into it as a way to increase its moisturizing properties?
    Any guidance you can offer would be appreciated. Thank you.
    P.S. I started using the Simple moisturizing wash as a replacement for my honey and oatmeal mix but it stripped my skin of any remaining moisture it had. I'm really desperate, I feel like I'm aging 10x faster than I normally do.

    Would someone mind telling me what’s wrong with witch hazel? I’ve been using it sense I was little so I’m a little confused.

    • @tiloo4949
      @tiloo4949 4 года назад

      It depends on the skin type even then it shouldn't be high up on the list, but a high concentration of witch hazel is very drying in general to the skin.

      Witch hazel is drying to the skin, but if you have oily skin it’s not bad. If it’s been working for you so far, I wouldn’t throw it all away

    I also feel like you guys trip over the witch hazel way to much as if it's that wrong. I can understand why it's added for it's benefits but It was equally balance through out the bottle with other hydrating ingredients, so I would say do a patch test and try it before canceling it, over one ingredients that doesn't take that much room. Unless syou allergic and everything than girl don't touch that fat water. Me personally, if you do use all three, witch hazel is not that bad, since every single bottle as hydrating ingredients. And stop hating on the RUclipsr bc you was expecting her to trash talk the brand for witch hazel, it's really not that serious in a overall look over. If you just by the toner, you may have the issue, if you buy all 3, it may not be an issue.

      TO NY I love the Cerave Am moisturizer and also their Pm moisturizer. Both oil free and have ceramides, niacinamide, and hylaronic acid in them. The AM moisturizer is a spf/moisturizer as well. Cerave can be found at almost any big box/drugstore and each product is under $20.
