Three suggestions from a Brazilian:
1) Install rear-view mirrors (they could be put on the corners of the roof); 2) Try adapting PVC or another type of pipe (also painted blue and/or black) and run the wires through it (but don't fix the pipes with nylon cable ties, because of the stetic aspect); 3)Please wear a helmet, everyone.

Best I've seen yet practical and efficient with the panels, yet covered from rain too brilliant this should replace all scooters around town

solar is good for flat surface roads, bumpy road its not good.

Solar panels are made out of silicone which is the same thing that glass is made out of. Solar panels can crack and shatter similar to glass. Some of them also have a sheet of glass over them to protect them from rain and dust and that can crack also. There are some flexible solar panels and probably some more sturdy solar panels but they're going to be more expensive

This is a good home made modified bike. I would add to rear wheels instead one and may be two in the middle. Adding length and solar on the top it can easily flip one side and panels can break.
