Hi there Paul, that upgrade to the drive shafts did the trick, now all that 4000kV power can propel the DF03 Dark Impact along at a good rate of knots! Awesome video Paul, what looks to be a favourite park area. Wishing you and the family health and happiness for 2022. 😊😉😊
Cheers John I'm worried the video may get repetitive but this pla e is just 5 mins from my house and has very few people got to it first thing in the morning. Thanks for tuning in John.
Yerhhh it did good. I bought some square spike tyres for it but they don't fit the rims properly and other tamiya rims like vqs wheels don't fit the car. Really would like some better tyres for it. Hopefully sort it soon. Thanks for tuning in Duke.
Yerhh wish it had batter off road tyres on it though. I did get some square spike but they dont fit the rims. The rims are wider on the front. And wheels like VQS wheel won't fit the car as the catch on steering knuckles. Still looking forward to getting it out again though.
First time running it. First time I have had this chassis too. The only mod I put in are the metal ball diff parts. The stock kit has metal ones on the back but plastic on the front. I put metal all round. I don't know if diff plates are maybe in the wrong way round but I don't think it matters. I did a Web search when I had the issue with the dog bones and it seems to be a ongoing issue with this car. Plus people say the plastics are awful and strip easy. They are a very soft plastic compared to other Tamiya kits.
Good question. I prefer the Tamiya tbh. Especially in regards to Arrma rc's. I feel I am getting more for my money as they are all very different. I like the build process and the lower prices allows more variations on the channel. I find the Tamiya community very friendly and you don't experience the bitchy Arrma, Traxxas stuff you get with bigger rcs. I find Tamiya more exciting and the pride you get from running something you built. I sold all my bigger rc and paid for a lot of new stuff. What was a tipping point for me was when the latest Talion came out. I was really looking forward to that rc. Then when I seen it I was like...its just like all the rest just a few changes. I started to feel cheated. I miss the dbxl a lot, but it was such a mission getting it out. I just wanted something I could nip out with for 15mins hassle free. You can do a lot with Tamiya compared to the bigger stuff at a quarter of the price too.
The only upgrade I have done are the front drive shafts and it has held up great. N.p so far and now I have changed the wheels and tires it is a lot better performing.
I've just got a feeling that Tamiya kits really aren't all that suited to brushless upgrades. Not saying it can't be done but they just seem to need a lot of hop ups, whatever the model, to handle the extra power.
the df03 confuses me, its built like a basher and a bit of fun, but it jumps like a thoroughbred racing buggy, where the usual basher jumps fairly flat (in my personal experience) this likes to nose down requiring the same jump technique as racing buggies, how curious
Yerhh a lot of people don't like it. The don't like the plastics and some of the design. The only thing I am not too keen on are the ball diffs. They feel awful. But that is probably my fault for running a 4000kv motor with no slipper clutch. Nice car to drive once you take the awful stock tires off it.
Hope you liked this video, please leave a like and subscribe, I mean why not, it’s free and really helps the channel.

That’s a great little ripper now you’ve changed the shafts 👌
The grass was a bit of a drag being so low slung but wowza on the hard surfaces 🚀🌟
Yerhhh I had a good time once it was fixed tbh. Good Times.
cool rc and awesome run

Great video, do you think the Impact handles better than the Hotshot?
Cheers, Yerhh I definitely do.
Nice little buggy once you sorted the drive shafts. 👌👍

Friggin hell
If you didn’t know you could also think your watching an Arrma typhon now Paul😎💯💯
I'll take that compliment. Cheers 🍻
Nice one on the upgrade shafts he seems a lot better now like night and day
You could put many packs through him in a session now Paul😏😎🎯🎯
Yerhhh for sure. Just need to find some better tyres and maybe a shock upgrade and I'm sure I will like it more.
Nice
Thanks.
Nice 👌🔥
Cheers @dave blue. Welcome to the channel.
Were the modern electronics an easy enough fit ?
The esc pretty much touches the body but you can lift it up a bit and it looks OK.
Great run have you had that problem before with this car or that chassis

@@FullOnRC thanks Paul I was just wondering cause you said wasn't a big fan of it
Is that a brushless motor?
it is.
Another nice run, how do you like running all these Tamiyas compared to the bigger bashers you got?

So far how has the buggy held up to that system?

All My Tamiya Run the 4000KV motor and are pretty much stock. The parts are pretty cheap so if the last only say a year it isn't too bad.

@@FullOnRC and overall an extreme package once you look at the price tag too
Sponge is useless, use rubber O rings instead
Good tip. Cheerz
