- When I was young, milk that was just about to go bad in the fridge meant that my mom would make chocolate pudding. It’s super delicious and kind of makes you wish for milk on the edge!
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

I made this tonight for dessert after dinner. I will never buy store-bought pudding again if I can help it; this is so good and so easy!
In Appalachia we'd put this over homemade biscuits and call it chocolate gravy. It was a treat that grandmas made for grandkids and not many people still make it.
Yes it is yummy 🥰
I think I would prefer cornstarch over flour. I make my hot chocolate from scratch, in the winter. I always put a little cornstarch in it to give it a smooth and silky mouth feel. One night, I was lost in thought, and before I knew it, I had a pan of chocolate pudding ! I couldn’t drink it, but on a cold night, it sure hits the spot!
This is a recipe I use every time I crave some pudding. It’s so easy and delicious ❤ Try eating them with biscuits and some nuts next time it’ll just taste heavenly
Can it be done with every kind of milk, or only with cow milk?
Love these simple ingredient recipes! You’re page is awesome. There’s a grandma inside your soul who is an amazing gardener and cook 😂❤❤❤❤
So saving this recipe! My Grandmother used to make chocolate and tapioca pudding for my sister’s and I.
Waiting until the morning to make this with my son. He will be soooo excited. Thank you
😋
So good! Mom & Grandma made this for us often, we had our own Holstein🐄growing up😉
My mom used to make us chocolate pudding all the time, from scratch. We lived outside Los Angeles but she was a country Oklahoma girl and a wonderful cook.
Yum! Do you have a vanilla pudding recipe? I want to make a banana pudding
No cocoa powder, sweetie. Just add another tsp of good vanilla and should be delicious. Enjoy your pudding.
Couldn't you just leave the cocoa and chocolate chips out and add 1 tsp of vanilla?
Oh my word! This is delicious! I halved the recipe, and added chai tea latte mix instead of cocoa! It's so Good!
🤤
So easy and 100X better then the fake ass "puddings" at the grocery stores
Ya had me at butter! Yum! 😋
This looks like a new staple lol delicious!! 😊
Do you think gluten-free flour would work as a substitute?
Love this thanks for sharing
Wow that looks delicious
This looks AMAZING I’m most def gonna make this later today
Heck yes!!!! Yum!!!
Woah! That’s awesome! I guess I never realized you could make pudding without a jello pudding mix 😂
I’m impressed that yup don’t use any gelatin!! ❤
I am watching your video at least for 6 month and your video make me happy. Keep making bro😊
I think I will try the pie idea!😉
Looks great.
Yum. Must try this
Mmmm- mmmmm.. I just watched your vanilla pudding recipe and am now craving pudding. My husband drinks like 1/2 a gallon of organic milk per day so we never have almost off milk except for when we buy raw milk which sometimes goes off a good week before expiration date. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to make some pudding soon. ☺️
Excellent thanks for the resepice!!!!
this looks SO delicious!!!
Looks yum
Thank you yummy 😋
Okay, you're on a roll. This is the second recipe video from you I've saved in two weeks...👏
I loved pudding as a child. My mom made it. Now I realize I’m lactose intolerant and I still eat it now and again.😂
Looks delicious!
Yum!❤
Wow thanks for the recipe. It does look so yummy!
Oh my goodness, I've made this 4 times now since watching your video (just last week!). The first time I made it just the way you instructed. Then I kept reducing the sugar to an amount that I like. 1/4 total cup vs your 1 cup (brown and white combined). I also use dark cocoa. It's the perfect amount of sweetness and I can eat it with a little less guilt now :)
Homemade pudding is soooo good!
I made this the other day and it was delicious!
Yes! I know this is true. My grandma did this. Of course she made many foods out of cream that was going bad. Nothing went to waste. No footprint
Easy recipe and looks delicious
Holy chocoholic heaven...😮
Yum.
Yum!!!!
🙋🏼♀️ Any tips on non-flour options for GF folks? Same question on whether plant based milks can pull this off? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Add a bit of instant coffee to dissolve into it at the end....turns up the chocolate flavor❤
This is definitely one of those. You can't have just one spoonful of this DELICIOUS chocolate pudding. Couldn't stop licking my lips one taste and I was a gigantic YES .
Made your avocado and cucumber salad today! Oh my goodness absolute HEAVEN! THANK YOU ❤👌🏽🥗
Yummy 😋
Underrated😊
So Very Yummy ❤️
mmm…… so yuummmmmy
Sounds like same ingredients minus cornstarch for the chocolate pie recipe I use.
Omg, delicious looking. I’m going to make it… can I cut back a bit on the sugar?
Super 😃
So done. This is dessert tonight.
Looks good but can we cut down on the sugar? One cup is a lot!
Nothing better than homemade chocolate pudding. This is an easier version than the one I have used for years. Will definitely be making your version.
I always cook the vanilla because I don’t like the off alcohol taste it gives when it’s not cooked down.
Yes, nothing like homemade pudding. I have a similar recipe that uses cornstarch instead of flour.
Much more chocolatey if you add pure bakers chocolate. Other options include almond extract, clove, cinnamon, cayenne.
I used to make ice cream chocolate with banana and cocoa powder then freeze it
Woooow! I wanna try this.
But any milk? How about powdered milk? Like Birch Tree. Huhu! This is available in the Philippines though. Haha
You can also use corn starch with this method. I've done it that way, and it has the added bonuses of being gluten-free if that's a concern. Can confirm, this recipe is delicious.
Delicious and the recipe please
It's in the Description. ☺️
Click on the 3 dots. Click on description. Full recipe.
I didn’t understand the ingredient after the brown and white sugar? What’s that please 🙏
Wish you would list the recipe in comments. Did you pack the brown sugar?
As a standard procedure, brown sugar should be measured “packed”.
The ingredients are in the description. Hit the three dots in the upper right-hand corner to show the description option.
It didn't look packed to me.
Btw recipe is in the description box, however he did not say if it’s pack. Go to the three dots at the top of the short and hit them, it should show it for you.
🥛🤨🟰🍫🍮😋
Update: I watched this late last night in bed and woke up coincidentally to milk “on the edge” 😂
I’m surprised that you didn’t temper the eggs. 🤔 Don’t they have to be with how hot the pudding was (even “off heat”)
oh.... I❤ you
Can you use a non wheat flour?
Can you do without the added chocolate chips?
What's a substitute for eggs?
Can I use gluten free flour on this one?
I love stove top pudding.
❤❤❤
I wonder if you could do this with soy milk and coconut oil to make it dairy free? Gonna try it!
I’ve never seen homemade pudding before. Tragedy of the modern world we live in 😂 gonna make this now at some point - it’s so easy
I feel like there’s is no about to with milk going bad. It’s fine and then it’s bad. Na mean? 😂
Mmmmm
Recipe ?
How TF did I not know pudding is essentially a chocolate roux mixed with milk to essentially make a gravy with some extra fat to make it thin and smooth 😂
We don’t really have ‘pudding’ in the UK. I’m always intrigued. We have mouse, posset… not pudding.
The moment when you realise you are not an adult (you cant make it any time)
I wouldn't have melted the chocolate nibbles but left them whole.
i love you
🙃
I'm sure this is delicious, but with all that sugar it's gonna be a hard no for me. #StillLooksGood😢😊
And a sugar free version??
you are sooooo cute
