I went there recently and I agree that it is one of, if not the best, the greatest bookstores in Houston...due to the pandemic however, they have rules in place to protect the public, including not touching books unless you plan to buy them, I love this place though...

The most disappointing used bookstore I have seen is Booked Up, Larry MacMurtry's mega-store in Archer, TX. It's spread across four buildings in the town square. None of them have air conditioning, and only one has a toilet. I don't even think it is in the one that has a cash register. All four buildings are filthy. The ceilings are crumbling, and the tops of nearly all the books are gritty, and forget about books that are on top of stacks. But the most disappointing thing is that no book is priced under $15. I don't think MacMurtry is serious about selling them.
