Thank you. I got behind a week and a half ago. I think I started down the dark path between fires in my area (Napa, California), American politics, and the corona virus. I managed to go to work when I was supposed to, and babysit grandchildren when I was supposed to but I've been a zombie about everything else. I came in today and thought I would watch your last two weekly videos and then I would do 8 days of work this afternoon!! Yeah...silly me. Thankfully by the end I realize that I'm fine. I can jump back in. Everything will be OK. You mentioned being tired and I sort heard a little difference in your voice. Hope you are feeling OK. Take care and thank you for being such a wonderful inspiration to us all.
I just recently listened to a podcast that was talking about how successful people are the ones who master the mundane. The ones who reach their goals are the ones who keep at it even when it’s the same thing every day. Diane, I would say you have mastered the mundane and with style and grace! Thank you for continuing to inspire us to keep going.
Instagram just doesn't do it for me! I really hang out for your wonderful youtube vids. I never thought about a cleaning system/ routines till I found you, now my life is so much easier, no stress, thanks Diane
Hi, Diane, 'making our own sunshine', lovely and heartwarming 🌞. There are such days, I don’t want to get up, but now I've a nice conversation with myself: be stubborn, just do the few things, no matter what and it helps. Love, Monika❣️
I got introduced to you from Dawn the minimalist mom and I am so glad for that introduction. I have never been much of a house keeper but I have recently moved and I have been decluttering and organizing so now it’s time to clean. I really think the fly lady system will be doable and maintainable. The best part as I learned about getting dressed and picking out tomorrow’s outfit is adding a bit of sparkle. I have been saving my mom’s pearls for 36 years. I decided it’s time to wear them! Thank you for reminding me I had them an the encouragement to wear them. You do make your own sunshine and it’s been a great gift to others.
Oh Diane...you’re one in a million..the inspirational person going on my control journal is you..thanks so much...from a fellow “cany” Scot..who gets off her bahookie on a regular basis now lol Donna xx
October 1 here. Perfect autumn morning. Bright colors in the trees and blue sky. 50° but will be a bit warmer by noon. I recently found a beautuful (blue and white) Dansk pottery candle holder that was discarded with the unsold items from a family yard sale. In this rural area it is common to have sales of unwanted or needed items on Saturdays, what was not sold is left out side marked FREE...I now have a perfect Diane in Denmark candle holder . ..it is lovely and is my Flylady reminder . Perfect
Your eyes really do shine in mint! They match, mine too. It looks lovely on you! Thanks for the encouragement. I did enjoy the summary os each set of Flylady days ! It was fun, and I am improving slowly. Some things I always do, and some I am still working on doing consistently...
Thanks, Diane for taking the time to remind us of these routines 😀 I’ve just changed my zone order as I have two living and dining areas and week 5 just wasn’t giving it enough time. I now have swapped that zone with zone 3 - bathroom etc. Yes, you make a good point about working out and doing what suits our circumstances best. I’m looking forward to my new routines! I hope you have a fantastic weekend ❤️
Decorating the porch today for fall ! A sheet ghost goes out on the flagpole, a real pumpkin pyramid of three goes on the porch and a real dried sunflower and grasses wreath will be made over the weekend. cornstalks will hunker down by the mailbox. Enjoying the fall! Very little to do for Zone two this time. Extremely clean little kitchen! TY again for the consistent cheer.
Thank you for taking us through the 31 Baby Steps. I will miss your daily pep talks. It really motivated me to get organised. Just a little pamper and declutter today. In came a lovely new pair of slippers and out went my old ones 😇.
Best wishes for October, I’ve been feeling a bit sad, saying goodbye to Summer, but I’ve refocused now on cosy socks,( bought myself new ones yesterday) cosy home, reading books and writing. I may find a pile of leaves and kick up a little storm. I must do more on self preservation ( actually do something on it, 🤪)Great to see you on RUclips. 🤗👏🙏
Thanks for the videos. I’m finding it hard with the family being at home with Covid restrictions they are working from home. I’ve been keeping up with my routines though. Thanks for the reminder to just keep going forward, rather than looking back to the zone work I haven’t done!
I have not been focusing on routines on weekends, but they are starting to become habits. I focus on doing something with family and practicing not feeling guilty for taking rest days.
Have loved this so much, love the Instagram, but I like youtube better..I hope you keep doing them, You are part of my morning routine! Much love from AZ
I was so confused initially when you said it was Saturday, cos it's only Thursday here in the uk. I know there's a time difference between uk and Denmark, but I was pretty sure it wasn't 2 days!!! 😂😂 Thank you Diane , you have totally helped me to get back on track with my routines, I'm not entirely sure about the zone cleaning just yet but I will get there!!! Bless you. Stay safe and well. 😊
I could sit and watch your videos all day.. Love your peppy spirit. I started watching because my daughters house is out of control but realized I need fly lady myself. I am curious about what the temperature is of the air and water when you and your besties skinny dip?? I laugh every time you mention it. Watching from Hershey, Pennsylvania, USA.
Hi Diane, I've been wanting to comment for a long while now, but I didn't know how to, until I spotted some comments today, so I knew were I comment then as well. I have Myalgic Encephalomylitis, so I struggle to do tasks, so I have to be really careful, not to push myself too much. There can be days and days that I cannot do any tasks. I would really appreciate it, if you, or anyone else, reading this comment, could possibly give me any suggestions of how I can manage things, due to my illness please?
tanya N hi Tanya, I don’t know about your condition but I know that sometimes I have difficulty getting through the day. What I do is do what I can, when I can. Once you get the routines up and going and they are done as regularly as you can, then everything ticks over between than before. My top 4 are, swish and swipe, getting dressed, keeping the sink area clean and making my bed. I also aim to tidy up as I go along. I do a bit then rest. After all the most important thing is our health. I hope this helps a little. 😀 I have just read about your condition and realise how debilitating it is! ( hence this edit!) Do you have help? If so perhaps you can direct them in the fly lady method? Don’t beat yourself up when you feel bad, it’s not your fault. My earlier advice still stands...do what you can... 🤗
See what tiny thing you maybe can do when you're doing something else. I have chronic pain & numbness of legs. When I wash my hands ...I wipe my sink out. I put a few dishes in the dishwasher or take a few out at a time. I do everything little by little. I know health issues can make you feel discouraged. Give yourself a break & do what you can.
Hi Tanya! I have lots of suggestions on my Flylady Refresher Course series here on RUclips ruclips.net/video/Y4jnFkHpBFw/видео.html but the main thing is that you have your Routines written down so that you can go to your list when you have energy/a couple of minutes and you can check something off. Don't worry about the timing or order of things. And if you have others coming in to assist you, you can show them your list and what needs done.
Hi Tanya, when I wasn’t well and was struggling with energy levels I also found Diane’s 31 babystep videos really helpful. I can’t find a playlist for them but if you search Diane in Denmark babysteps on RUclips you should see them. Big thank you Diane! ♥️x
@@joycejames4879 with how unwell I am, I unfortunately, cannot keep up with the 31 baby steps. I didn't know how to respond back to Diane's reply, so I am pleased that you have commented. I am finding the Tody App very helpful Joyce and Diane. In relation to what you recommended Diane, I am finding that having cleaners in, is very frustrating, as they don't do a proper job, so I may not comprise a folder of the things you mentioned about, due to this. If you could make some videos Diane, for people with Chronic illnesses, who struggle to keep on top of things, then that would be great please.
Menuplanning ... I do not plan, I just look at the dinner suggestions of the day at Arla, hopefully I find something that is acceptable to everybody, or something from the other days of the week, or I get some idea. If not I tell DH that I have no idea, and we end up eating really late. I have a plan though ...

You look really young and adorable with no makeup and your hair up in a towel. Those Scottish genes.
Love the mint color on you!
Thank you, Cheryl!
Great refresher Diane. RahRahRah go you!
Omg, I lit a morning candle and went out for the day and left it lit!!!
Oops! Hope everything was okay. We have a rule here, never ever leave a room with a candle burning. Perhaps you can get some LED ones?
