My Tokyo adventures continue!! Akihabara is where I first appeared in this world, and is my favorite place to be in all of Tokyo! Coming back to Akihabara was so special to me, and there were so many amazing people and memories!! I made some new friends, and had such an incredible experience suiting in Tokyo!

No dis but I find it funny that a furry has a better understanding of Japan's cultural polices than a mega RUclips vlogger(Logan Paul).
He kept saying "It's all about the respect" but if only he practiced what he preached. It's not hard to go to another country and be respectful. You get a lot farther in the place you're visiting, and you make your own country look better. :)

Whoa, that was so cool that you were able to make that work! Fursuits in cities look so good with those bright colors constrasting with the grey concrete.
They do! Even in Akihabara where the signs are so bright and vivid, everything pops!
Public cospalying/fursuiting is prohibited in Japan? I didn't know that (I also wonder why too).
"It is frowned upon"... really? Seemed like everyone was enjoying it. Sure, there were a few odd looks, but you'd get that wearing a fursuit anywhere

I believe it's a blend of respect and humility. But people who cosplay typically change at the event where it's allowed (like at a convention), or they have to cover up their cosplay while getting to the venue. There are special cosplay photo studios where people go to take photos in cosplay or suit. The only cosplay you'll see on the streets are for businesses. Maid cafes and mascot characters (usually promoting cell phone services) have permissions to suit but typically only in front of their business.
Sherbert Shenanigans wow...I actually thought it was totally ok to go out in cosplay with no questions asked....I was wrong completely :o
I'm pretty sure you can possibly get away with it in HaraJuku given it's meant to be a haven where you can express yourself and not present yourself in uniform or such.. (though I may be wrong) but in general they have a lot of rules for the purpose of not disturbing or interrupting other people basically. At Comiket they make you change into costume in the convention center and change back before you leave. That makes me a little sad.
That said there are always counter culture, and one time in Osaka I saw a little girl in a gothic lolita dress.. just hanging out in a mall. (Yes it was an actual child surprisingly. Maybe kids can get away with it more ;p )
With what I've learned of Japan, I would think that if it would be accepted anywhere, it would be there. Our strange and fascinating world...

Well that's another thing I learned, I had no idea you needed permission to film and let the police know too. Guess that's what I need to keep in mind.
Definitely keep it in mind. If you're mindful of the rules, and respectful there, it goes miles, and also helps the kemono community there. :)

Akihabara: An otaku’s Stairway to Heaven
You'll probably have a hard time shopping then. Those tiny shops are all multi-story, and elevators are REALLY small.
Thankfully I'm slightly below the average height (160 cm) ^^;
Personally I prefer Den Den town in Osaka! .. but I'm kind of more of a kansai fan ;p
Last time I was in DenDen Town was quite some years ago, and I found Akihabara had more of what I was looking for at the time. But I DID try to go to DenDen Town this time...we didn't have much time, so we went to Dotonburi instead (I'll have a video of it soon!)

I never knew cosplaying and suiting is frowned in japan thanks for that heads up. But What about Japanese fur cons and that stuff.
At cons you can do it. Those events are set up for suiting/cosplay. But you can't just walk around on the street in your cosplay or suit. Not unless it's special like for business or filming (and you get the permissions)

It's sort of dual-edged. The streets are clean, but there are also very few public trash cans. Usually they are for recycling, and found near vending machines. And often those are overflowing in busy areas.

Thank you! It was such a great experience being able to do this in one of the busiest parts of Tokyo! Even watching it afterwards, I never realized how people reacted, and how positive it all was :D

Wow cosplay is prohibited in Japan! I would have thought it be really big over there with all the great Anima that is made over there.
You would think, considering how prominent it is...but actually no. You can cosplay in private locations or events that are set up for cosplayers, but you aren't even supposed to hint you are wearing cosplay while you are out in public. They tell you to cover up your cosplay while you are traveling to your event. Or change at the event.

Sherbert you have a great looking suit love the eye colors they really go with the the suit. Enjoy fursuiting it is the best time of your life, have a great time . I spent four years in JAPAN that was a lot of fun for me, I learned a great deal, I would love to go there again one day. Enjoy being out there in suit.

And sadly, we finished filming all the way on the other side of the city right when their show was starting. There was no way to get back to the hotel, change out of suit, shower and then run all the way back to Akihabara in time. :(
