There is no need to use the extra HDMI Cable. The one only C cable will give you the power and use immediately the Innoview Portable Monitor as an extended monitor or duplicate monitor. On my HP laptop just clicked on F4 and Voala!, it gave me the option to extend or duplicate without going to settings, A little window comes up for selection. No need for HDMI cable. Just the C cable only.
Perhaps the type c port on his laptop did not support video. I have a MSI laptop that the type c is for data only and doesn't support power delivery or video.
My monitor on the MacBook is not showing anything so I purchased this monitor how can I setup the external monitor when I can’t see anything on the mine monitor
Hi, very helpful video! and is a great portable monitor, I really think it adds a lot of functionality to become a power user. I have a question, though. How can I keep the monitor connected so when the laptop is powered off, or in standby, the monitor also goes to sleep or to power itself off. Currently, unless I unplug the cable, when the laptop is powered off the monitor does not power off and instead it start to display full red, green and blue screens cycling through those permanently.
It can be used for gaming as well but of course it will not be as high quality as an actual gaming monitor. It would likely be great for casual non competitive gaming.
How do you put it to sleep? I recently bought this and can' figure it out. The screen flicks on and off but will not stay off when my laptop is in the sleep mode.
innoview imo quality is exceptional when it comes to portable monitors so much cheap junk out there. its not great but its close mine is pretty color accurate
I have just got this monitor, but the one thing I want to know that wasn't touched on was, if I connect with my Mac, how do I just use the audio from my Mac's speakers instead of from the InnoView? I would rather use the Mac's speakers as they are much better. Thanks
I am not a Mac user but just like settings on my PC you should have the option to select what set of speakers to use. Yeap, initially the sound went to the Innoview speakers so I went into my settings and selected the speakers off my laptop.
Use your F function button that gives you the option to select how you would like your second monitor to function. In mine it is F4 however in others it might be F8. Your instruction manual should be able to tell you which F function key to use. After you do that then you can select any additional display options as the gentleman is showing you here.
This has been sitting in my closet for a year because I haven't been able to get it to work with my desktop PC, so glad I found this video. Subbed
