I'm from Little Rock and soon as I seen you pull up to the stoplight with the fire station in front of you, I said he's in North Little Rock about to turn onto Broadway. I'm so impressed on how they modeled the city even though it's compressed to size. They did very well in my opinion. Wish they made the game for console. Thank you for showing us Arkansans the DLC for the first. Been waiting for this since California.
Seems they're gearing up for a console release with new controller configs and a more controller friendly interface
Hey Jeff, fellow Missourian here! I'm from Hayti, which is about 1.5 hours northeast of Jonesboro on I-55, 19 miles north of the Arkansas state line. Arkansas looks great and I can't wait for Missouri to come out! I'm guessing we'll get a Tennessee announcement soon as I-40 and I-55 meet in West Memphis, AR before splitting and crossing the Mississippi River going into Memphis. Also, 2 miles south of Hayti is the western terminus of I-155, which crosses the Mississippi and ends in Dyersburg, TN, with US 412 continuing to Jackson, TN and I-40 between Memphis and Nashville. Truckers and travelers like to use it to bypass Memphis on the way to Nashville or St. Louis so I hope to see it in the Tennessee DLC.
TN simply because of its shape and outside connections isn’t getting released before Mississippi AND Alabama minimum (which won’t come before Louisiana) OR Kentucky (which isn’t coming before Illinois and Indiana) and they have to get the upper midwest at some point too. TN is probably still around 10th on their state release schedule.

As an OTR driver, driving on I-30 in Arkansas can be brutal. The road is old and bumpy and always tons of traffic headed toward Dallas or leaving Dallas.

Nice. Why can’t ATS devs make brakes you can overuse on grades and runaway truck ramps that actually work though? Is there a limitation with the game engine?
Nothing better then the trucking routes I have done in the past (and still do irl) being in the game. Ive been from dallas all the way to Providence Rhode Island. Multiple routes and pickups of course but so cool to start seeing the states I have been to in the game. So far looks good
I’m surprised they didn’t include bentonville since that’s where Walmart is headquartered
Lately, I've noticed that SCS is hit or miss in the DLCs. I agree that SCS missed a good opportunity with Bentonville absent in the game. Same goes for missing Bartlesville, Oklahoma and the area between Topeka and Kansas City in Kansas. Thanks to us, we kind of forced them to include the missing I-44 piece of interstate in Oklahoma City. We can hope that for future updates, they can include these missing areas

Probably couldn't be included because of compactness.
It's likely because of the scale. Even though 1:20 isn't as restrictive as the 1:35 scale that the game initially launched with (which they changed less than a year into the game's life as they saw how terrible of an idea that was), it definitely still shows its limitations. If the map's scale was just a TAD bigger, we definitely could've gotten it. Unless they decide to rescale the map once again, it's just something we'll have to deal with, unfortunately.
At least we got JB Hunt and Tyson then instead haha and dont foget USA Trucks in Ft Smith(really Van buren) and Dillards in LR

Graphics wise, I run JBX, Snowymoon to smooth out the edges, and Reshade along with a preset. Game looks really good! Also, in case you didn't know, you can use the dev console to increase the rate of traffic spawning with the 'g_traffic' command. Just put a number after it, e.g. 'g_traffic 1.5' without the quotes.

Scs nails every map they make, 8:00 - 13:00 just blows me away. Play nailed the southern feel perfectly.
I do want to know their reasoning for jumping from Nebraska to Arkansas and skipping North and South Dakota and Louisiana. 🤔

I kinda wish SCS fleshed the Arkansas DLC out a little bit more. I mean they could have a least added AR state highways 92,25,and 87 which basically link Hwys 65 and 67.
the town that you dropped off the cattle is Magnolia, AR. and it is extremely accurate. i lived there for a year or so and hopefully moving back there in 2026

I got the dlc and instantly did a job from Little Rock to Fort Smith. We stayed in fort smith on a USA vacation last year. It looks great I’m hoping the big giant pencil it there it’s hanging in front of is a store. I made my wife drive back to get a photo. Also ate at my first wattaburger there.

I heard rumors of it coming to consoles if so I'm excited and excited to play the Arkansas DLC. I'm a resident of Arkansas it looks sick they've gotten every single detail correctly even downtown Little Rock and Union Pacific Yard on Broadway Street!
Where you zoomed in at on 1:37 is the town of Lake Village, which is only 15 miles away from where I live in southeast Arkansas. The town is situated on Lake Chicot, which is the largest oxbow lake on the North American continent. It stretches around 22 miles from end to end with a width of around 3/4 of a mile wide.

This is crazy, I drive that exact route every time I go to the VA in Little Rock.

Much smaller than arkansas since he just left little rock and is near arkadelphia at 9:29 since that's the only rest stop on I-30. I drove all over the state of arkansas all the way north to Harrison and all the way down to Texarkana
You can tell he's never hauled livestock the way he pulled out stopped and went around curves with them.

I have over 650hrs on ATS and 650 on ETS as well...but now i just cant find any joy to play it anymore..maybe it has run its course for me. ill wait for a year or two when there are many more dlc maps to purchase.
Love the new Pinnacle, always preferred the look of it over the Anthem. I also think they did a good job on the sounds with this one, I'm surprised as the stock SCS sounds are usually terrible. But I do look forward to Kriechbaum's sound update.

Nice Vid mate! I have a 2080 super and ryzen 5 5500 with 80+ mods and the hiccups seem to be more cpu related unless in 4k resolution. I found 1.51 is way more stable than 1.50 tho
The in-game hiccups are happening a lot to me these days. Some areas are worse than others... Matter of fact, the only way I have been able to play co op is with the traffic off because the dsync is so bad it reminds me of GTA with traffic just spawnning in on top of you. I think there must be something to that... I might think the 2080 super might be getting aged, but most people I have seen playing with much newer rigs also experience the same hiccups. I really hope ATS will spend some time working these issues out. By the time a guy gets fully vested in this game, you are several hundred deep. So yeah, I do expect more! Anyway, thanks for the sneak peek, Jeff! The rig and game look great per usual! 😊
13;55 I've done that about four times in (ATS) game before couple trips had turn around but mostly take u to another easier route.
Very excited for this state to finally be in-game! My dad's family is from El Dorado (which is pronounced do-RAY-do, not do-RAH-do!) and I lived in Fayetteville for the first 5 years of my life.
I refuse to butcher El Dorado like that

I can't tell you how much I hate how so many of the rest areas in the Midwest exit to the left. So dangerous, especially when you're coming back onto the interstate.

I like the engine sound is different than the Anthem, I really like this new truck.

Also, not to be that guy but we pronounce El Dorado wrong here. We do, not you. We pronounce it El Doraydo instead of how it’s supposed to. We also do Monticello wrong and have towns like Toad Suck and Flippin so

As an NPI replacement i recomend snowymoon's taa used to be on the forums but then he made it patreon and now its still on his patreon but free and you can even get an addon by him that adds Nvidia DLSS upscaling never used it but i am sure its a god sent and it works with VR
edit: Since 1.50 the optimisation is bad i run a 12600k with a RTX 3090 with 32 gb RAM 1440p on max settings and i sometimes WITH MODS get under 50 fps and the frametimes are really bad Pavel said that the next update will be optimising but 1.51 came out and there is no mention of optimisation

I’m a couple days late but do you get to keep the DLC that SCS give you? Or do you only have it for a bit?
I use Snowymoon for ats it uses dlss tech and seems to smooth things out a bit.
Scs really needs to work on traffic density all the while making it efficient for pcs to handle. Same with truck stop density.

You should get at least a 40 series NVIDIA card because they have ray tracing and there is also a mod for better AI drivers

Jeff the problem with the game stuttering is not your gpu. It's a twelve plus old engine thats getting direct x 12 soon. Should fix it..

Hey Jeff I downloaded American truck simulator yesterday and I’m loving it so far but if I ever wanted to drive cars instead of trucks how would I do it
The only train crossing 82 is way on across near Magnolia AR nothing near TK basically looks like thats where you went to 85 miles east of TK.
I mean the entire map is compressed

This was pretty awesome and the game looks great and the new lighting it makes the game even better and mkre realistic and I enjoyed this alot and loved it and can't wait to see more of Arkansas when it comes out. Id love to play this game again but my current computer in recent months is really having a hard time running this game both in temperature and performance
