The problem with movie theatres in my city is they're built on the edge of town, in the big box store area, while the entertainment district and the university are downtown. It's only about four miles to the movie theatres, but without good public transit, students and downtown dwellers have to decide if they want to stay downtown to drink, eat, and listen to live music or a show, OR drive to the movie theatre and then drive back downtown to round out the evening. Most students are gonna choose to stay downtown every time. I bet AMC could easily recoup their investment in a downtown movie theatre, like we had back in the 60s and 70s.

Hey Grace!! ❤️ ❤️ I love all ur videos and never miss a movie math. I know u have a heart of gold for all people of different walks of life so I just wanted to reach out with love about ur comment on Passion of the Christ 2 and saying the premise is "nuts". From the little that was mentioned it sounds like it will include a further telling found in the Bible that many Christians hold dear 😊 It does mention that when Christ died for all mankind He conquered sin and death and took the keys of hell. I would assume it will also show how Christ reappears to the disciples and other believers and the Great Commission. All this to say is that it's not "nuts" to many people that believe in the scriptures. Just wanted to share bc I know u always approach people with a open and understanding heart. ♥️

Nielsen numbers for The Last of Us was given to the trades. According to Showbuzz daily it's Sunday debut was about 588k viewers and demo numbers were 0.17. Everything combined (Sunday live, later viewings and Max) has the debut at 2.76 million viewers and is about 233 million minutes viewed in the US. There is discrepancy between Nielsen's numbers and Warner's...so um, pick whichever you prefer, I guess.
So overall, TloU had a much stronger premiere than S2 of White Lotus, but it's debut is much weaker than HotD. Eager to see which way it goes. Will it consistently grow like S2 of White Lotus? Or will it grow for a couple episodes, peak halfway and lose steam near the final episodes like HotD?
    EDIT: for clarity and grammar

That's probably why it made only $6 million. I know... I was looking forward to it for weeks and it never showed in theaters around me in L.A. except for a few.
