I know the Switch's been around for close to 6 years now, but I only got one a few months ago. I gotta say, I don't quite see it as a handheld. It's too big and heavy for my taste. It's basically a home console with a tablet "gimmick" like the WiiU was. This is just my opinion. I love it but I will rarely play on handheld mode.
That's fair, and we appreciate your comment! It's honestly great to hear prospectives like yours. If you had a choice, would you rather Nintendo have a stand-alone console and a portable? Someone made a comment about pocketability as well, which was a good point.
@@CompleteGeekTV I don't think I would necessarily prefer 2 separate devices, but if the console must be hybrid, I would prefer it was more lightweight or smaller. Thanks for the reply!
I Believe they will continue the switch family they have the ultimate consol that everyone wants it's on the TV and on the go. People under appreciate it even tho it's behind on graphics.
Tough to say what direction they will go. I think they will stick to the switch format instead of spending time and resources developing a new dedicated hand held device. The switch has been around a while now and it still has plenty of life left in it but I'm thinking they will have an announcement no later than next year about their next Gen system.
I doubt it. Nintendo m’s whole thing is to be able to take game with you on the go. Especially when they got a massive franchise like Pokémon under their belt where it’s encouraged for people to go out with their consoles and connect with others.
Here's the real question....? How could they get any smaller on those physical games? If they even have physical games? They might not going forward. It will save them money and have it be super convenient for everyone.
Yes. This was more of a reference to future when the next Nintendo console comes and if we think Nintendo will ever have a DS or Gameboy type handheld or maybe continue on with the Switch or Switch Lite, even when the new console comes as it's own separate handheld.
I honestly believe that nintendo shouldn't have stopped making 3ds handhelds. They could've still made next gen 3ds and next gen switches. In all honesty, as much as I love my switch, I play my new nintendo 2ds xl more than the switch. Plus I can just put it in my pocket and pull it out wherever. Can't do that with a switch. Handhelds are true portables. Switch is portable but not pocketable.
I can't imagine Nintendo doing anything else besides the Switch at this point. It's just too successful. Also allows devs to create more software for a hybrid, instead of allocating some studios to do one or the other. Less R&D costs because they are focused on just a single piece of hardware also.

Yeah, I can certainly understand that, and I imagine others would agree with you on this. Thanks for sharing, and we appreciate you watching.
I hope not! It’s such a great concept. Just keep iterating in it and making it more powerful and I’ll be happy.

nooooo collecting is life
The Switch Lite is their "no tv" budget handheld.

@@CompleteGeekTV Solid video 😁👍
Thank you. We appreciate you watching and hope you have a good weekend.

That's fair points. It's hard to agrue the portability. Did you get any games before the online store closed?
The DS was the highest selling handheld not the 3ds
Yeah we got those numbers mixed around. Pretty amazing how many sold.
