I’ve treated my deck, and all around my home/up my home with maxxthor spray, and maxxthor granules 3 times now, I have dehumidifier running upstairs and downstairs nonstop, no leaks or water damage visible, and I still find this on my basement baseboards and basement windows (I have a half grade basement, full-size windows at ground level). I’m at my wits end, I’ve tried to spray every crevice and crack in my deck, in siding, and all over. It works for the day and they’re back.
Thank you for this video. We had springtails on our home. They were everywhere on the house and the deck. But it’s a newer deck and all of our exterior wood trim was replaced this summer. Along with good powerwash. I also raked up any compacted mulch. Our house is very well maintained so this was frustrating process. Had exterminator come out twice. But the problem all along? Was our underground drainage pipe. You’d never know it. But it was collapsing creating a pool of water underground in the pipe itself. It also had sections where water was leaking against our foundation. We had an exterior drain company use a camera to inspect it as needed. The camera went underwater which we knew wasn’t a good sign. But also it wasn’t until they tore the pipe up itself that we could see the water actually rush out. Our house is almost 30 years old so if you have a springtail issue and you don’t have an indoor plumbing leak, etc and you are spinning your wheels like we were - have your exterior drains checked.
What other signs should I look out for on drains outside? I have springtails outside too making their way inside. Never had this issue. This past winter with the rare constant rain in SoCal I had one drain that would always get clogged and never drain. I snacked it myself but always got clogged

My lawn dont have any sod, no mulch, grass are sooooo dry since I dont have sprinkle system. My lawn has so many old soils around the house wall, and weeds, and weed in between the concrete gaps. What can I do? Would the lawn insect killer products helpful? Awaiting for your suggestion.
In my apartment, I keep having some sort of bug bump into my nose, my eyes, and my ears. About half of the time the bug(s) bump into me, it leaves a small wet spot that I can touch with my finger and feel wetness. I Whatever sort of bug it is, it's very small, because I can't see it. I began doing research online over the last few days. At first I thought they were eye gnats, because those are very small, but I'm not so sure that they are now. They also can't be human fleas because those leave visible bites, which I don't have. Because of the wetness, I'm thinking it might be spittle bugs, but then I would have to see one of their spittle bubbles somewhere. So unless there are other bugs that I don't know of, it pretty much has to be either eye gnats or springtails. Is there an option to Talstar, it's very expensive. I've been dealing with springtails in a second floor bathroom, they're coming in the tub which is on a wall. This is the third year they've come back. I had three exterminators and it did nothing. I thought it was drain flies at first. I used sevin granules and some pesticide spray where I could. What if they are in the walls and harboring there. I did have some work done on a glass block window in the bathroom and the next spring they started. I need help with this.
Jason, thanks for this video! I treated the outside of my house with Suspend SC (deltamethrin) for earwigs, which did a pretty good job. It killed other bugs too of course, but I noticed I still had springtails crawling over the treated surfaces for weeks after. Should I treat with Bifen IT?
I have a new build and it looks like they’re mostly coming from the basement window and the bottom of the back sliding door. I pulled back the Vapor barrier and there are thousands of dead ones. But also I see the odd new ones. I don’t see them bounce but I’m pretty sure that’s what they are. At first we had mites but now they’re black and about the same size so I’m pretty sure it’s spring tails. I can’t say there is a lot of decomposing material around anywhere since it’s a new build but there may be a hole in one of the windows caulking. Hard to tell but since they’re mostly there , there must be an entrance. Last year it was ants, mites and now springtails. New builds are killing me! Lol

I have a awful springtail problem in the home checked and tried everything to get rid of them with several professional companies out too that didnt work. With what you recommend to use do you need to spray daily or every couple days inside and outside until gone or will the spray work right away?
It can take several months to eliminate spring tails and it can also take regular service to keep the springtails away because they breed in the yard. Check the links in the description for info on pesticides that work on killing them
@@GreenAkersPC Thank you! I just purchased the 2 items you recommend hoping they will work for us! How often to you recommend spraying with what you recommend & applying the granules?

Wow sounds exactly like my problem. Luckily they aren’t near the kitchen bathrooms or sinks. Just the garage and front door and living room area. But they’re all over outside. It’s because of the mulch and soil outside is contaminated with them. Need to put down bifen LP granules. I have a 25lb bag coming. But seriously need to remove any mulch that’s close to the foundation of the house. You’ll need to spray around the house too. I spray white vinegar when I see them around the trim and floors. The other side of the wall is the garage. What can I do? Diatomaceous earth is the only thing saving my anxiety. It’s all over my counter tops just so I don’t have to see them alive. The Orkin guys used delta dust in the outlets but I still wake up to more dead ones each morning (thanks to my DE eveywhere). What could be between my garage and kitchen? It’s a new construction house. We’ve lived here less than 2 years. I’m not even cooking in my kitchen anymore it’s been 3 months . Please help.
I have them as well. What are you using. What is DE exactly?
Have you found solution?
Have you gotten rid of your springtails problem. I’m finding it a little difficult as well.
@@Neneny122 same here. I find 4 or 5 of them here and there but it’s disgusting to have them in the house. Been having a difficult time getting rid of them
@@thehound1359 ever get rid of them? I suddenly have them out of nowhere
Can you have springtails and fleas
What about in the tubs
Are they the same thing as silverfish?
No. Silverfish are a different pest entirely
@@GreenAkersPC Ah! Thank you. This is the first time I've heard of springtails.
@@Justme77400 me to
We live in the woods/wetlands. They are all around my chicken coop. Can you recommend a product thats environmental friendly - as my chickens forage & am concerned about the wetland aquatic life...
My chicken coop is extremely clean but it is damp because of the wetlands...
Thank you.
It’s tough when everything is so marshy. I usually recommend trying to move things to a dryer location because as soon as either granular pesticides or sprays wear off, even eco friendly ones, the springtails will be back and you can never truly eliminate them
I have springtails all over the outside of the house and stone around the house. They are all over the pipes coming down from the gutters especially and the long black tubes that extend the pipes from the gutters. Do you think the main nest then is up in the gutters? Problem is we can't reach them to tell. I took Bifin IT all the way around the house. Do I need to get something up in the gutters?
They are also inside the house now. Kitchen, window wells, bathrooms but worst of all they are in the air vents of the house. They are all over the tops of the white vents.
HELP! :'(
Wow sounds exactly like my problem. It helps keep them away but once it dries they come right back so it’s not a permanent solution
Do springtails bite like fleas?
No they don’t bite at all
@@GreenAkersPC But they do jump like a flea would? Because I saw what i thought was fleas because they jump.
