No president can tell a private company what to charge for their products. Only the american citizens themselves can force corporations to lower their prices. We do that by not buying their products. With each new dollar printed and bond sold, the face value of all other dollars currently in circulation has to share that value with the new currency, making every dollar worth less than the previous face value. The only ways to curb that is to STOP spending, back the newly printed currency with collateral capitol, or remove an equivalent value of bills from circulation.

He used money saved from other reductions in spending to pay for it instead of increasing other taxable liabilities.
