- This video describes how to propagate plants, particularly coprosma, from stem cuttings without the use of plant raising panel or heat pad, and mini greenhouse. It also suggests a possible substitute for the cutting mix.
Hi sir, we’ve been looking for ways how to propagate coprosma and we landed into your chanel. Thank you sir!
You're welcome Glenda! BTW, are you, by chance from Visca?

Hi that was quite a demo.. what was that solution that you used to dip the tips before planting before putting in the medium.. i do want to try it with eugenia cuttings..thank you
It is auxin based rooting hormone (specifically Indole butyric acid). It comes in liquid, powder or gel form. I actually prefer the powder and gel form.
after that procedure ..covering and all ..we will just let it stay that way? no more watering etc.?just wait for the roots to come out?
Yes, the medium that I use has good water holding capacity and since it is covered with plastic it does not really dry out. But if you suspect the medium is already quite dry, you can gently remove the cover and moisten the medium a bit.
Thanks for this video its very informative.. tanong lang po in chosing a stem to cut is it the matured or the soft one.. and which has the better chance to survive . Thanx in adance... 🤗😊
It actually depends upon the plant species. Some shrubs like pittosporums, gardenia (rosal), hebes, coprosma, and bougainvilleas are best propagated using softwood cuttings like what I use in this video. Some plants like roses are best propagated using the more mature cuttings. Cheerio!
@@ezigardening thanks. It is so informative.
How many days for promogation
Yong high dose vit. C how much is the mg per infuse..naka iv infusion din ako every 3wks san pero 3x a eweek lang kasi sa bdget. Last na sana 75000mg pero hindi natoloy. Kasi nga doc atoie na ako. Hanggang 60000mg lang ako
Do I need to this here In the Philippines, were in Tropical
Yes, sure you can. Maintaining high humidity around the cuttings to prevent drying up of the leaves and using a medium that is porous yet retentive of moisture are all that you need. Using a rooting hormone will help speed up rooting.
What is the composition of the cutting mix? It is not visible on screen.
It is mainly coarse sand with a bit of peat in it to improve water holding capacity.
After propagating a plant eugenia no need to add water or expose to sunlight or not,
You can actually remove the cover then add water, say once a week, to make sure the medium is kept moist. Do not put it under direct sunlight. Best if you can put it under partial shade.
Thanks for the info but your background music is overly loud. Could barely hear you.
Thanks for your feedback.
Can you do propagating cuttings in Rubber plant
