Just got the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 and wanted to show what it looks like for those looking for videos like I have been. Hope this brings value to some.
I tried to order this truck and it never came. I ended up buying a 2023 ford ranger lariat tremor. I love my new truck. 😊 I’ll be taking it up to Mammoth,Ca next week. I’ll see how the gas mileage is. Looks like the Colorado and the canyon don’t have the built in home access button for your garage door and the rear seat doesn’t fold down. The build I did included a steel drive shaft. Colorado and canyon are notorious for breaking those aluminum drive shafts. My ranger had a steel shaft , folding rear seats, home access button included in package. I got it for $51k OTD.
Nice truck.... My local dealer has one. It's way overpriced. After dealer addon's and sales tax, the truck is $60,000 + out the door.... After 2-3 years, the truck will only be worth around half that.
I ordered my 2023 ZR2 in March. And it’s now built! My question is, I’m 6’1”. How is the seating position for tall drivers? How are the seats comfort? I own a 2022 Tacoma TRD Pro and it’s terrible seating.
I hate how they they changed the interior to that ugly gray and black and copied the ac vents of a jeep. My favorite is the 2020 model with the diesel, which I have. This is very nice on the outside though.
1) There is no way to manually turn on or off the headlights or the door locks. So if the battery dies, the hood is locked, how do you open the door locks, so you can open the hood, so you can charge the battery? 2)The V-6 and the Duramax Diesel that were available in the previous Colorado are no longer offered in 2023. Which engine is more likely to run over 250,000 miles the 4-cylinder or the Duramax Diesel?
This thing is tits. Congratulations on such a sweet truck. Keep an eye on your fender flares as people have been complaining about them not staying flush with the body and keep popping out of place.
Nice, I'm enjoying it so far. Some people told me since I didn't "order one" I'd never find one, especially a Black one like I want. I'd have to wait till there was more in the wild. So I guess I got lucky. I only wanted Black, that was my only requirement really. I hope you get yours soon. Its a fun truck to drive, aggressive design and way nicer interior than the older gen. I feel like I can go anywhere in it...haha!
@@BravoPapa29 I think you'll be able to find one on a lot in a month or so, unless you have a very specific spec you want. But I feel like more and more are hitting the dealers lots now. So by Sept 15th you can probably find something.
Looks clean 😊 the backseat is kinda bummer. The google map thing is pretty sweet I wonder if you could do off road track through a app and put it on the gage

For the underbody cameras, did that come with the Technology package? On the website, it doesn't say anything specifically about the underbody camera. When i spec'd mine out, it only seemed like the underbody cameras came with the Desert Boss package. Was it a separate add-on on the window sticker? I'd like those cameras but i don't want the Desert Boss.

That is HORRIBLE mileage. Of course, everyone says "I didn't buy it for the fuel economy". It's not about economy, it's about range, going londer distances without having to worry about my next fill up. I have a duramax colorado, and now I also have a Wrangler eco diesel. Never going back to gasoline. Nice truck, though... It's just a shame our government screws us over and makes auto makers kill awesome engines.
Can you only get the yellow stitching in the ZR2 (better for yellow exterior)? The ZL1 has the black & red combo for black exterior matches much better.
I bought a brand new black Silverado years ago and all ways said I’ll never buy another black vehicle, it was so hard to keep clean, it would get dusty a couple days after washing it, and after a few years you can see all the swirl marks in the paint! But yes it’s a very nice ZR2
Really helpful video. If you see an older ZR2 sitting in a parking lot somewhere, can you pull up and do a quick two minute video showing the height, width, ground clearance, etc. differences? 💯
I have the same exact truck, black as well. I have put approx 1100 miles on mine, no major complaints so far. its definitely not the most aerodynamic..haha. I'm coming from a TRX so I'm really not complaining on mpgs. I did have a 19 Zr2 Diesel and really loved that truck, time will tell if this one is a keeper.
Congratulations brother that thing looks MEAN. Hopefully the MPG and trans temps get better after the break in period; if you end up taking it off road some videos of that would be sweet. Cheers!

Is your MPG from when you drove off the lot (did you reset it). New vehicles have a decent amount of idle time/low rpm use at the dealer etc before purchase that will drop your mpg reading.

Awesome video. Love the truck. Here’s a video tip, especially on black cars: it’s easier to see the body lines and details on video if you film on a cloudy day, or in the shade. The bright sun washes out the picture some. Keep it up!
I have a 2021 zr2 that's lifted I personally like the looks of mine because it looks more Baja and yours looks more like a Silverado but I hope you make more videos of things you do to or with the truck so we can see if it's really that much better than the older models especially the motor and . thanks for sharing

@@mcheb8910 That's a lot money for a four cylinder. Theirs a video up of a guy who swapped out his 3.6 in his second gen Colorado for a 5.3, said it actually got better mileage after the swap. It's got me wondering if the 5.3 would fit in a current Colorado.
Having a hard time deciding between this and 24 taco. I get A plan thru GM so that help but the taco looks sweet imo. Probably won’t ever use front lockers anyway but would be nice to have

I’m a huge fan of the 2nd gen Colorado but this Looks good man. Definitely the best option out of all of the 3rd Gens
"Technically " would this be a generation 3 small truck as was the S10 the predecessor to the Colorado?

Its comfortable, plenty of room and WAY better seat than the 2nd Gen, but all this is subjective. Some people like Lambo some people like Ferrari

How long was the wait to get it, I have been waiting 3 months for a Z71. I also just ordered a 2024 Ranger. So who ever comes in first wins.

Yes, it was a separate add on option. $500 on the window sticker.

Trying to confirm that Texas trucks do come with tint from the factory - is the tint on yours factory or did the dealership add it? Thanks in advance.
Mine came from Oklahoma with the windows as seen in THIS video. I have since tinted them as seen in another video I did.

Resale will be better with the taco. The both look good though
