The max power was not as crazy as that last pull at the end - look at the guy he passed and you know the guy he passed was fighting for every watt at that moment. Justin passed him like he was almost stopped, the other dude had tried to pull too early and cracked and Justin flew past him on the last straight. Nice hold over 1000+ for 10-15 seconds (at the end of a fast crit) that is the amazing part.

  • @robertlauber9021
    @robertlauber9021 4 года назад +5

Watching you take those outside lines against the curb is so intense; high speed cornering and coming out of the turn with tiny margins and high watts. In the end, the opportunity for victory was just as slim so apparently that's what it takes. You have a very intimidating riding style.

They can't see the guy coming up behind them, he's in a total blind spot just rolling the dice on whether they'll use the whole width of the road to take their turn, which they might.
Totally crazy lol. Would not recommend.

I've only recently started watching these videos. You are clearly a dominant crit monster. So fun watching. This was my favorite style of racing long ago and these bring back many fond memories. What I appreciate most about your success and what is clearly evident in this video is that you put your time in at the front in the wind. Dude, you closed some serious gaps during this race and were rewarded for your efforts. That last lap was insane. Watching the one dude come back to you in the closing meters was amazing....and undoubtedly, very disappointing for him. Chapeau!

@@joellentz bullshit. "fully incriminates Justin for a total dick move"
nice wording. its a crit race btw.
the people at the front was looking back at justin, and i think they made a signal sound to try to block him.
it was the front guy in lightblue shirt, he swung to the middle to try to block justin, the guy in darkblue swung to middle to stay on lightblue guy's wheel. and the guy 826 wasn't on a wheel and he wasn't looking back, he tried to get on a wheel, but justin was already there.
it really is the 826 guy's fault for not looking.

I’ve now seen the crash from both Matt Zimmer’s perspective (who was directly behind) and Justin’s, and originally thought it was likely caused by Justin trying to go through a hole that wasn’t there at a point in the race were that wasn’t necessary. Looking through Justin’s eyes however, it seems clear to me that the rider moved in on him and Justin was just rolling his momentum. I don’t think you can put much blame on justin for that.

Have a look at Matt Zimmers video to see the full move. I'd say the move was not totally necessary but what are you supposed to do when you're already at 30mph and the door is being closed on you? It's a combo of errors and an unfortunate outcome.

After watching this video and Zimmerman's video ruclips.net/video/h6618Bgu9CE/видео.htmlm52s it seems pretty clear this was completely Justin's fault. The Mike's Bikes guy looking back had nothing to do with the crash, it's just the excuse Justin uses to try and place the blame on someone else.
Furthermore, Zimmerman himself who was actually there and witnessed the crash first hand and is obviously an experienced racer at this level says it was Justin's fault.

Also, saying "you have a right to your space" is absurd. Everyone has a right to their space, right? It seems to me both of those other racers who were in front of Justin had a right to their space too. And Justin forced himself into that space when there was no need to.
And yes, the guy looked back, but that had nothing to do with the crash. Check out Zimmerman's video. It makes it much clearer that the look back had nothing to do with the crash.
Saying "where else where you supposed to go" is also ridiculous. He should have hit the breaks. He was approaching a closing gap that he couldn't make. He should have slowed down. I get that he didn't want to lose his momentum, but that's the line he chose. Then when he was faced with the choice between slowing down a touch and checking another rider to the ground, he chose the later. That's a pretty shitty selfish way to race.

Love how you handle the pack criticism about the crash. Yes, the race is in front of you. Looks like one squirrelly field to navigate. You corner like a Formula 1 machine. Way to go

I know you are hella busy, but have you ever though about race breakdowns? You race so well and it's not just your power that gives you the wins. Seeing/hearing how you are reading the race would be useful for us normies.

That race was chaotic, but it wasn't nearly as chaotic as so many races on this level. Nobody knows how to dive or cut corners. Had a friend who broke his arm cause some idiot decided to press him up against the wall like 742 did. It's really a miracle people don't die in these races.
