I've found that once your anemone is settled with its foot in a comfy crevice. Its not likely to move again (once its settle for a few weeks) Once its got its foot in a decent overhand it probably wont move. Our flow and light is pretty consistent in tanks so I reckon its usually a lack of a comfy spot that makes them move. Once its settled you should be able to move the rock higher and the nem wont move. In my experience anyway! I now add anemones first to a tank, add a load of marco rubble until it finds a rock it likes and then I scape :)
I have a cade reef 900 s2 and bought the aqua forest sand it would blow around too easy. It looked so good but it had to go. Ended up getting carib sea special grade not as white but it works better.
Exactly like mine with a new tank with old rock and corals. The green cyano but it was easy to deal with. You might need chemiclean to get over this hump
Haha! Well glad I'm the only one! I've just been through exactly the same with Caribsea Ocean Direct Oolite Live sand. After 5 days of cloudiness running filter socks and then thinking bacterial bloom I'd had enough. Removed the whole lot and rinsed in a large container. Frustrating and quite a job! But the water is now crystal clear. I think that product needs to be reviewed or at least come with a warning ⚠️ 😂 Tank looks great btw 👍
Any chance you could show how you plumbed the clarisea into the cade mate ? Interested in this tank as it works out cheaper than the many custom quotes I have been given so far.

Hey Alex, loving the Cade tank! I've just ordered the 600; it should arrive on Friday. I'm also going with the Deltec skimmer 600 after watching your review on them. I'm planning to squeeze in a Reefmat 250 as well. Do you have any recommendations for lighting? I'm planning to keep softies and LPS only, and the light selection is overwhelming and pricey.
@@ReefDork Thanks for the reply. The 400 was my original option, but I was worried it might not be enough. I'm guessing that's not the case. I will go with the 400; it will also save me some extra money. I'll check out Kessil now. Thanks again
I used it for about 6 months now and it’s amazing hands down the best 2 part out there I use to use ati and kalk to help with ph since changing to phplus don’t need kalk and the corals colours are more vibrant
Alex, I’m designing a 50 gallon waterbox aio set up. Want to use that eheim UV. What pump you use to get the water out of the tank and back in? I’m looking at the new AI centrifugal pumps.
@@ReefDork thank you sir dork, makes sense! Like a dcw 2500? We have jebao here not jacod(same thing but the part numbers may be different). $55 US vs the AI @ $120…decent savings. 🙂 it adds up. See you on the stream later. Thanks for your time.
I have one of these tanks on order but not got it yet. Do you think you could fit a skimmer in that sump with the clarisea filter roller (or better still a Reefmat 250) or would it mean some DIY on the sump ?
Not as I've got it setup, no. But I think I've seen a video of a guy in Oz who squeezed a roller into the corner. The ultra reef ukm 120 skimmer would be my choice for this tank
I thought when you add mag to calcium/alkalinity something precipitates out...? I did a test once in Rodi water and the ph and alk dropped dramatically.
I think the Smart Roller because the roll change is just as easy and it's smaller. But they're both good and I'm actually liking the simplicity of the Clarisea too.
@@ReefDork I was all set on the reefmat until all the reports on r2r about drive failures. Now I've gotta research more on these two. Thanks for the fast reply and all the great content.
I have 4 freshwater tanks and quite some experience in aqua scape and all such by learning from mistakes and all good, though I always dream of having a small reef tank; have a BLAU 30L tank all new sitting in the attic and I would love to know if and if so, how and step by step help to turn it onto a ‘Coral Only’ decorative Saltwater Zen garden - I have time and patience to look after my tanks, not many fish and am crazy about epiphytes in my freshwater tanks, not into planted tanks and all the fishes.. I use art and creative mind to have zen tanks… so hopefully I can have ideas and help in how to create a nano reef SW tank only.. many girls like me love marine life and biology, but we just don’t know how and we have lack of space too for all these big tanks these videos promote, and fishes and such, some like me love the colours, the movements and the serene peaceful life as you see in it, I love Xenia and Duncans for instance but also Anemons .. but I know they are rather tricky; also I think that on a small scale, no more than 3 or max 5 species of coral should be used, to keep it all together easy and healthy and clean and perhaps one red hermitcrab or something as a cleaning crew at most .. or just one tiny fish if ever, but no clown fish for sure
I had the radion g6 above a 60g and swappwd it out for the same reason. PAR was disappointing. I actually think the spread on the light is complete overkill, half the light energy gets wasted over the aide of the tank unless you habd it like 4 inches above the water
A uv steriliser will not work on removing cloudiness. it's a strong and good protein skimmer that will remove the cloudiness from the water. I used 10, bags in a giant aquarium and my skimmer removed it all. So you should of just left the water in there, and be patient forbit to clear.

Very cool. Thinking about getting back into the hobby. Just a small 15 gallon WB though. Cheers.

No, it just had a bit of sand on it. I do find it gets a little dirty over time, but it hasn't yet properly clogged for me.

I would of flipped that shelf bracket upside down though, so it kinda looks like a light tank mount. 🤷♂️ Great video!✌️
I wanted it to be out of the way so you can't see it behind me in videos, but I think that's a good shout
To be honest using shelf brackets is such a simple idea. Would never of thought of using this over a hanging kit suspended from the ceiling.

1:47 250 gallons or 100L after displacement? That must be some magic mirror tank to hold 250 gallons :D
😂 oops, I added a zero to the gallons!
Ph in my salt water tank is 7.8 I do have a polycarbonate lid and salinity is 1.023 but Iv looked it up that’s fine for corals and fish
1.023 is too low for corals, it'll stress them at that level. Build it up to 1.025 or 1.026 over the course of a few days.
