Genuinely not trying to be rude, just in case you already figured it out, but uh... In Java, that little bar you see below your crosshair after you attack? You always deal 1 damage if it isn't filled at least about a quarter before you attack again, and you deal full damage when its full. Also, you can't get crits unless its full.
