    Great video thanks for creating it! One question is it correct to assume that R, ri and ro are the values before press fit and that they will all shift slightly due to the press fit? To reach an equilibrium state.

      You are correct. You use the initial values for the pressure calculations, but they do shift when the fit is in place. That is, the radius of the shaft gets a touch smaller, and that of the collar gets a touch bigger. Also, R is the radius of the solid Shaft for most of these calculations.

    Thank you so much! Can this pressure be directly applied in FE analysis to model interference/ should it be modeled by modeling shaft and sleeve

      It is always better to model it in FEA. If you choose a contact pressure field, you will necessarily simplify it. Usually, making it uniform along the length...but it is parabolic, with the highest stress at the edge of the sleeve/shaft contact.
