Some say that the secret to a long and successful relationship is communication, but that’s only half of it. The other half is the art of compromise: give and take. This was an entertaining way to spend an hour and a half with a great ending. ❤
The movie poster blurb, prior to the film, reminded me of the quote over my kitchen sink that says "It all starts when you sink into his arms, and winds up with your arms in his sink."😊😊
I loved this. I don’t know why it took me so long to discover it, because I love 1930s comedies. Although it’s a comedy and therefore not meant to be taken too seriously, I couldn’t help philosophizing that there would have been no drawn-out comedy of errors if the husband had done one easy thing-respect his wife’s wishes. If the theater were truly her calling, she would have figured that out, given some time and patience. Plot-wise, this movie reminds me of His Girl Friday.
The description given by the uploader is for the 1964 movie Bedtime Story with David Niven & Marlon Brando. The description for this 1941 movie Bedtime Story should be as follows. A Broadway playwright wants to keep on writing plays for his wife to star in, but all she wants is to retire to Connecticut and, following a few 'worlds-apart" discussion of the issue, they get a divorce. The actress marries a banker in a fit of pique only to quickly discover the divorce was not valid. She communicates this information to her not-yet ex-husband and he, to prevent consummation of the invalid marriage rescues her by sending plumbers, waiters, porters, chambermaids, bellhops, desk clerks, exterminators and, finally, a crowd of roistering conventioneers to the suite to ensure no bedtime story would take place there.
Interesting movie on Honesty in Marriage. Love has a mind of its own. I might have divorced him too for thinking he cd do whatever he wanted & Lying. At least throw a good loud fit over it, lol.

Very enjoable comedy. Loved it🎉
Old movies have great human real stories.
Great movie!
Loving the film noir thank you ❤
Credit card in 1941? Wow and right after the Depression.
Sounds like the plot for “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”. 🤣😂🤣
The scene on stage, at about 43 minutes, sounds like it's taken directly from the movie "Theodora Goes Wild."
I painfully watched this movie just for amusement. But this movie is awkwardly unpleasant to watch.
