I dated an engineer who is now responsible for going around and educating US Disney Theme parks (including Bush Gardens) on the fireworks show. I believe within the past 3yrs they have changed techniques which are safer and cost-effective.
I never watched little mermaid as a male teenager, but after the controversy I did look it up, and while it probably was great back in the day, The Bailey version is leaps and bounds ahead.

She's actually singing the song Matthew Broderick and whomever the female charter was when the re- meet after years of her not knowing what happened to Simba after his Father was killed. The characters are the ones actually singing this version, not Elton John.
