I took a tour of the building in 2013. It's very cool indeed. They had a dress code (waived it for this presenter it seems). My husband didn't travel with a blazer, so he had to borrow one from them (he's not the first to show up without a jacket, so they have a lending service)
@@user-wq5kv2hu2s Eh? Are you absolutely barking? St Paul's Cathedral, the Guildhall, the Royal Exchange, Dr. Johnson's House, Mansion House, St Brides, The Barbican complex, Tower Bridge, Bevis Marks Synagogue, The Bank of England, Royal Exchange, the Custom House, Smithfield Market, Leadenhall Market and St Bartholomew's Hospital. It was a pretty cool building to work in, but ultimately it’s became an expensive indulgence, that provided more space than was needed. And as the market moves to more online transactions it will prove even less of a useful space. And now of course, who wants to spend a lot of your working day mingling with several thousand people? And all the pipes and stuff outside? Well they rotted by the mid-90’s and needed replacing, the building is a nightmare to keep clean and over the years the lifts have not always been too reliable. But I love it, although I was sorry they tore down the old 1958 building where I started my Lloyd’s career. And of course, it pops up in countless movies as the ultimate futurescape backdrop, Guardians of the Galaxy (and Mamma Mia?)
She's a popular character from a comedy show (not my cup of tea) about a working (lower) class group of freinds living day to day in an industrial city. You are correct, but i believe the BBC has chosen her to present an alternative narration that appeals perhaps to a wider range of people. That includes wearing track suits and using profane language, as i'm sure the lady herself doesn't go round like that if it's her choice. If she does, good for her, it looks comfy. (but also 'minging')
I would hardly call myself a fashionista, but a brown track suit, really? Not sure how it works on your side of the pond, but over here, track pants are the universal signal for "I have completely given up", most people wouldn't wear them to Walmart, never mind on television.
They're not as taboo here, there are two distinct cultures, one is made of trouble making teens the other made of people like, going for a jog, casually going to the shops etc; not usually on TV though.
Damn, that is one butt ugly building. It's so ugly, it's got ugly it hasn't even used yet. It's so ugly, there's only thing more unattractive, Camilla.
It's the most random-looking building, but that's precisely what I love about it.
It was the early 2000s giver her a break ;)

who walks around the city in sweatpants?? Especially if you are on TV!
TV personalities nowadays do not wear appropriate dress compared to people in the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

Well, this supremely hot young lady did, and I for one welcome it. You might be a boring suitwanker but fortunately you're a dying breed.
@@Harray97 this is much older than its RUclips upload date - sweatpants were everything in the 00s obviously
When she thinks of the city she thinks of 'architechture devoid of all imagination'??? really? the city has outstanding architecture...
compared to some capital cities its ....amazingly shite

How do they prevent the pipes of freesing when it's cold outside?
Mild winters in London

The Art, Glad you were unhurt, different times indeed!
200ft high atrium, not 200 m lol
It's good that someone else realized this and wrote it 2 years ago lol.
200m high atrium? The entire building is only 95m high.
Oh God, she sounds like a walking minion meme...

It’s a disgusting building, it used to look British and traditional and beautiful
interesting design

Man I wanted to know more about this building but this girl is unbearable
Very unusual woman. She walks around in public in her pajamas and has a funny way of talking.
You’ve never seen someone walk around in sweatpants? It’s completely normal, a lot of people do it. And it’s an accent, lots of people have them 🙄
Natalie is a legend, I love her casual attitude

It’s a northern accent?
The building is ugly as hell
