Machinedrums sounds and mixing are awesome. But his latest couple of tunes sound like exactly the stuff I try and get away from and the reason I dont listen to radio.
I would've loved this stuff when I was 14 years old, just like I'm sure 14 year olds think this is great.
I sure do hope Machinedrum didn't have a stroke or something, because this is absolute shite compared to everything else released the last couple of years.
hell no bruh, this album is shaping up to what rustie's followup to glass swords should have been, which is incredible to me (sorry rusto still luv you and evenifudontbelieve is amazing).
also machinedrum's previous stuff isn't going anywhere and continues to bang, I just love that he's trying a more maximalist style out even if it's a lil bit derivative of stuff like rustie, wave racer, pc music, et al (machinedrum's sound is still intact tho and I really wouldn't call it THAT radio-friendly). I mean hell, his style has been so varied for so long that it was only a matter of time he tried something that may not be privy to your taste but hey you're totally within your rights not to like it which is kool too
bromaier can't say I've heard all the songs that will be on his new album, but all of the latest singles and eps are just a total buzzkill for me. To me the recent collabs are just.. Weak, cheap and boring.
If his new album turns out to be good then I'll be a happy camper. I just doubt I'll go camping at all.
fair enough, this sorta sound totally is candy-coated and definitely more 'in' now but it's a guilty pleasure, I love it and the fact it's machinedrum of all producers behind it. it's his pop album for sure and it's a take-it-or-leave it deal
This is ten billion thousand times more lush, complex, masterfully produced than anything like it that is actually popular. Trust me I am in high school right now and my friends would hate this because it is too overly complex and not lyrically dominated like most popular "dance" music. I can understand if you don't like it but this is honestly some of the most high-energy, creative production in electronic music today.
Robin, I would recommend listening to the album. Tracks like Isometrix and Spectrum Sequence, although not singles, stand our more for me. And he holds true to the sonic aesthetic for the entire album.
