  • Vance & Hines introduces its Competition Series slip-on muffler in matte black for Yamaha's latest addition to the Star line of motorcycles, the Bolt and Bolt R-Spec.
The angular upsweeping muffler design of the Competition Series slip-on is the consummate enhancement to the Bolt's bold back-to-basics style. Formed in lightweight stainless steel and coated in high temperature ceramic with laser-etched Vance & Hines logo, the Competition Series slip-on also features a machined billet end cap in matte chrome to match the finish of the factory header heat shields of the Bolt.
With an aggressive deep tone thanks to its fiberglass wrapped perforated core, the Competition Series slip-on brings the Bolt to life in a big way, but still retains the versatility to be fitted with an optional sound insert to measure the exhaust note.
    - Lightweight Stainless Steel Construction
    - Slip-fit to OEM Head Pipe
    - Available in Matte Black Finish
    - Upswept Design

This video does not show or explain clearly regarding the stock head pipe gasket. It is shown being removed but no mention of it after. Currently, I have a small, but noticeable exhaust leak around the barrel clamp connection. I've adjusted and tightened thoroughly to no avail.
Is the OEM gasket meant to be reused?

No, not for a slip-on unless you want more power.

Hey did you need to install a tuner on that? Bolt with slip on competition V&H pipe.

+Mark X No, for a slip-on you need not install a Tuner. Once you change the air intake, you will require a Tuner to prevent lean running conditions.

Not a must but it will run a bit lean. I just installed mine and can verify. No biggie as long as you dont mind a bit of backfiring.
