I can’t believe in the early 2000s the average living room tv was 32” and now I have a 65” in my bedroom. I plan on getting a 85inch in the living room. One thing I learned from my parents was to buy what you really want so that you don’t have to keep upgrading. Once I get that 85inch tv I won’t be in the market to get a tv for a good 7-10 years. Yeah they cost a lot in the short run but if you keep it for years it becomes cheaper in the long run. Always purchase warranty too!
i did what you say, 1 year 9 months later the tv screen is gone for good, warranty expired after one year, i guess your advice aint really the best one can follow

Only if you have the adequate room for that. If not, you'll waste your viewing focus because the field of view is too large, or even get nauseous by it.
That's what's keeping me up at night! But, thanks to this comparison, seeing how close the 75" and 85" look, there shouldn’t be much of a difference between 77" OLEDs and the upcoming new-size 83" OLEDs. Meaning, better save on clearance prices instead of waiting for the next-gen.
Or you could just wait in about 4yrs and get an oled that big at a much reasonable price point instead. By then Samsung and the Chinese brands will have killed LGs bs monopoly on that tech and make it insanely affordable to the point where you'll see these panels at a local walmart.
The reason why a 85" costs a good bit more than an 75" is on the fact it uses up more of the "Mother Glass", have a higher chance to fail quality control. Come with more dimming zones, Uses more packaging resources, and cost more to Ship. But if you Mange to find one that's been discounted for a "Open Box Return" you can Snag a 85" for close to the same price of a 75".
I remember i had for a very long time a 32 inch, then when i moved on my own, i bought a 50 inch, it was the biggest they made back then. Then 55 came out not too long after. One day i went to my cousin and he had a 65 inch, which i was blown away by the picture size. Today i bought a 75 inch and it's so big !! LOL, can't believe they make 80+. I guess we will go all the way up to 100 inch, which was mostly only attainable with projectors back then.
you can actually go up to 220 inches which is absolutely astonishing but would probably be something used in a home theater but its like 600k so unless your a millionaire im not sure who else would buy that
Went from a 43 to an 85 in May. The armoire the 43 was in had a diagonal of 81. Just got rid of and rotated the mass and hung the 85 on the wall and got 2 theater seats. Makes the room look much larger and its like 4 43's put together. Great video!!
I’m glad someone had a chance to clear this up for me. When the numbers with the “ marks gets higher, the tv gets bigger. This clears up about of confusion.
55 is good starter the difference betweeen 50 vs 55 feels so huge. But between 55 vs 65 it's not it's just adds more immersion. I have 65 in my gaming/movie room and had 55 in living room. Sadly my friend broke the 55 and I quickly replaced it with cheap used 50 because I didn't use that much anymore it was for quest mostly. But it's just mindblowing how small it looks compared to what the 55 used to look. I did try to find cheap 55 too but those didn't work out. The 65 for some reason never have looked that much bigger than 55 it is only screen though 55 had bezels but still it does not it's just lot more immersive and things look bigger like hud in game.

I use a dinosaur era 21" LG CRT 😂 I view it from 12 feet distance and everything looks tiny(as it damn should). What would be my ideal tv size for this loooooong pending upgrade - 55" or 65"? If 55" I can afford top end QLED but if 65" I can't go much and would have to settle for older models. Please suggest.
Personally, I would go for a 65" non OLED non QLED least fancy Samsung VA panel for a dark room at a long distance. There's no sense in paying so much for for a non OLED. If you're planning on viewing it from side angles, try an LG / IPS. 55" can work great too but try to be a bit closer than 12 feet.
I've noticed something that kind of sucks with big tvs. They start looking normal. I remember when 27 inch was our big tv. Then 32 was the standard for a large one with 42 inch being the really big screen only rich people had. Now I have a 55 inch in my basement and it was a decent size, until I got my 77 inch OLED for my livingroom. Now when I go downstairs the 55 inch looks small and the 77 inch looks normal. 77 inches looks normal!? I haven't even finished paying off the tv and it's already not looking so impressively big. And 55 inch went from being really big to a small screen now. I'm also used to the HDR and when I see a non hdr it looks dim and washed out. It reminds me of that episode of corner gas where Brent's parents got bumped to a new wine bracket and their old wine just wasn't good enough anymore.
I remember during the early 90s 14 inch black and white TV was a standard TV size in Nepal. My dad bought 21 Inch color Hitachi Fujian TV in 1996 and damn it looked massive. Today 65 inc TV is considered average size!
Upgrade your viewing experience instead of focusing too much on size. Like getting OLED, or a sound bar that can reverberate around the room. 75" is a bit massive for the typical room. It's good only if you sit too far, or if you had just moved in, and have no furniture to fill up the room with.
55 inch is VFM. 65 inch is also affordable and in reality its very large. Above 65 inch I think its a preference. If you want large screen. Prices increases exponentially. I mean you can buy a high end 55 Inch TV at price of basic 75 inch TV. So I will say buy quality over size.
